Life has lost a few ZvZs lately, but they've all been against other top-tier Zergs (Dark, ByuL, and Rogue). He's still probably the best ZvZ player in the world.

I think Life's weakness in ZvZ is really overrated. He lost 4-5 games, yep, but ALL of them were straight up BO losses. These just happen in a matchup like ZvZ :-/ (Ok, I haven't seen his games against ByuL.)

10pool speed isn't that good of a build order to begin with, no matter how much Artosis prefers it over 10pool banelings. There are good reasons why we see 10p banes a lot and even a lot of professional players call it a build order loss when you go hatch first against it. While 10pool speed hardly ever happens, and this game has shown why. And Symbol even got quite lucky with how the scouting phase of the game.

Yes, but that's also not great either unless completely unscouted until zerglings are at your ramp (ie. queens not pulled). 9p (or 10p) bane is quite good, though, against specifically hatch gas pool. That's what Dark used to beat Life twice.

people are so quick to declare that life's in a slump and he's on a down turn, when he has been pretty much the most consistent player in terms of results over the last few months. i'm sure next time he faces bbyong he will adjust and crush just like he did in the revenge matches against forgg and dream. i guess he's being judged whether fairly or unfairly against Mvp and history.

It's the burden of expectations, I think. Because he made it to Ro4 in his last 3 Korean tournaments, and won one of them, anything but winning seems like disappointment right now. But he still lost to Rain in GSL, and from Ro8 he only won by one map in each series, meaning they were close. In the SSL he lost pretty hard to herO in the Ro16 before going for early rushes against both Classic and herO to get out of the group.
Life isn't a player that ever completely dominated in a sense that it's impossible to take maps from him, he's a player that excels at not losing "important" games, hence his absolutely insane offline bo5+ record. Judging him by losing a series that doesn't necessarily hinder him the rest of the tournament is inaccurate, when he has done so quite often in the past anyway.

Parting lost to Myungsik, Life to Bbyong and Innovation to Bomber. None of those are really what I'd consider championship players at the moment haha
Let's see if herO drops a series to Flash or Patience and MMA to Sacsri

to be fair both bbyong and bomber can play to a championship level in any series (not saying they did). And bomber vT is championship caliber anyway.

Honestly, if herO loses to Patience Flash might finish the group in 1st place and that would feel very weird. Really, the hardest opponent for herO in that group should be Dream, but they might just avoid each other completely :S.

Indeed I did. Fantasy crushed souls so hard in that group I lost all memories of what happened afterwards <.< Actually true, when I think of that group I just see Fantasy obliterating everyone and I'm like "Okay, no Zerg advanced from that group."
