I'd like it if you were right, although I'd also accept KT 3-0 because let's be honest, the only way the lineup could have been better for KT is if Stats played Rogue and Life played Maru.
Lets have a good round this time KT. Dont blow it again ! Also I like the fact that they keep sending Flash at 1st or 2nd spot. He must be doing good in those inhouse sessions.

Cure vs Flash is basically a toss-up. They're both pretty good at TvT, but definitely not outstanding at the matchup. The least hype of the Jin Air vs KT TvTs :/
sOs vs Zest is literally a toss-up. They've been pretty close historically, plus sOs is super weird so it's basically 50-50. In a straight up game, Zest should win, but if shit gets weird then sOs could very easily take it.
Life vs Rogue is very interesting. Life's worst matchup right now is probably ZvZ, and I've always thought that Rogue has been pretty damn good at it. I could definitely see Rogue taking this one, but due to the natural weirdness of ZvZ it could go either way.
Stats vs Maru is the only obviously favored game here. By all accounts, Maru should be favored here. It's his best matchup, he's super in-form, he's beaten Stats a couple times recently. Stats could take it, though. Anything can happen in a Bo1.
Ace match is probably gonna be Maru for Jin Air - even if he loses to Stats, KT have never fielded Stats as ace. As a result, I think KT should field Life for ace. Zest just hasn't been good against Maru either, and again TvP would be suuuuper comfort for him. Of course, a sniper is possible.

To be fair, I think like 4 of those games were him bopping Miso.
But if there is any matchup Flash has shown true excellence in in the past, it has been TvT. I feel like the longer the game goes the more it will favour Flash, but Cure's pretty good so we'll see.

Yeah, this is a fair point. I do think Flash is favored in the late-game, but I'd equally favor Cure early game. Which is to say - not by an enormous amount, but by a decent amount.

I feel like terran's air units are really well designed all around. You can incorporate them into most compositions and they work well through out all stages of the game. Zerg's air on the other hand are pretty uninspiring except for mutalisk.

zest can play pretty good defense. i remember a few games from him on catallena where he defended drops perfectly in multiple places. but against maru.. i dont think you can get by with defending with the bare minimum units.

It's just too funny how KT keeps trying to beat Maru with Protoss, Maru is unstoppable in TvP. Any other matchup is better, quality of the player doesn't even matter, it can only be better than TvP. 3-7 in regular Proleague ace matches in 2014 and 2015 7-6 in all playoff matches in 2014 and 2015... which is after he 4-0'd SKT in R1 of 2014. In the past 15 months he's 3-6.

Agreed. Life also seems like the kind of player who plays better when he's slightly angry over a loss, as it seem to push him to give it his all in his next game. Echo is decent for Life too, as Maru is virtually guaranteed to go Bio on that map. But still, KT came close to beating a top team again in the round robin, and just wasn't able to close it out. Well played Green wings!
Happy for the Green Wings and for Flash. Sad for Life, but it's not like he's suffering for results so... Also, let's just recognize Rogue for continuing to be a Proleague beast.
KT coach driving me crazy, why are you keep sending zest out for god damn ace match Its getting predictable to the point he's getting sniped pretty much every time. They have Stats who is performing better, Flash who can be a potential Maru sniper and Life who is still decent, and is difficult to beat if is unpredicted

Last year KT sent Flash 5 times, Zest 3 and Stats 1. Not so fixed. This year tho all 7 ace matches were played by Zest, and lost 5 of them I know nothing about coaching, but maybe it was Hoejja persuading HOT to make weird ace decisions? it certainly worked better than this year.

I wasn't around by that time I'm just parroting others (that's why I phrased it as a question) and looked up to his 5-5 record last year on IM, a team that I think needed him more than KT this year.

I don't buy this "he just isn't a team league player" tbh. Life is a world class sc2 player, so he should be doing well in any format you can throw at him imo. Maybe the coaching staff is responsible too, but i would expect a way better proleague performance from "the best player in the world"
At this point zest should just straight up refuse to play ace matches. He already has lost a bunch of those. They don't send Flash for ace because he doesn't "feel ready". What about Life? What about TY or Stats?
Had such a good feeling after the first two games. Shame about Life losing his game. Maru beating Protoss is almost a given by now, so I can't understand why the coaches keep fielding Zest in the ace. Life next time, damn it.
