If Maru wins, I can see it going to the ace, but I definitely favor SKT in games 3 and 4. Cure vs. Dark could be an epic match, but could also be a stomp in either direction if one player is on point and the other isn't.
Betting against terrans has been a solid strategy this week, and Samsung vs. KT doesn't give me a lot of hope for a change of course. Hoping this match can Cure the Bogus terran ailment; a man can Dream, right? something something Maru pun
I am really excited for this. Save Symbol vs soO, these are some great match ups. I would like to see Rogue over Symbol, but other than that, these are some great match ups.
(T)INnoVation < (T)Maru: Both are good at TvT. But I think Maru is better. Innovation is known to be broken by early pressure, something Maru excels at doing. This will be a close match, and I hope we get to see something like Bio vs Mech like Taeja vs Innovation at Blizzcon. That would be exciting. (Z)Dark > (T)Cure: Cure is really really good. He beat Dark last time. But I do think that Dark will beat Cure this time. His ZvT vs his Terran opponents in IEM was really good. As long as he can defend against Cure's drops and outmultitask him, Dark should be fine. (Z)soO > (Z)Symbol: I just think soO is a better players, despite both players being in slumps. (T)Dream < (P)sOs: Dream is definitely not a bad TvPer by all means. He is a solid player. But sOs has one of the most unconventional play styles out there. I think by sheer experience, sOs can win...that and some weird ass one time build.
Ace Match: Dark < Maru: Another classic matchup. Both players are good vs their opponent's race. I do think that Maru will be more prepared this time around. Expect this to be a close macro game.
It'll probably go to ace, in which I think neither Dark nor INnoVation will be playing. Might be Dream! We will have to see. Dark would be too predictable at this point and I'm sure sOs has been cooking up a cannon rush just for that game 5.

Can't believe that shit, fucking upgrades man, inno was back in that game after Maru had a solid opening and clear slight lead that kept getting better for him until inno was climbing back, great game to watch and should have been inno's MAYBE if he was ontop of upgrades more? idk.

Making stuff up is my biggest issue with Wolf's casting. He often states things as fact just because it sounds good. It would've been great if he was correct, but when he's not it's just annoying.
On topic, this looks like the corruptor style from Dark.

Something about proxy reapers being scary against greedy hatch openings, used recently by Sorry. And I'm sitting here thinking "I've never seen Cure proxy anything outside of TvT <.<".
Banes in marauders, supersafe and thus superslow opening, way too many roaches, 4th base and macro hatch at the same time while being pressured. Throwing away the initial seven roaches didn't help, too. Did Dark simply go full foreigner or did he throw?

Dark opened with ~6 roaches for safety, then he moved them across the map vs a banshee and did no damage.
So when Cure attacked with his heavy hellbat-banshee pressure, Dark had not nearly enough units. Fell too far behind in economy and tech, can't hold the first medivac push.

Moving drones out of the mineral line without the need to do so (second time), not moving them back when the widow mines had fired (first time). Sloppy creep spread towards the watchtower. That was like watching TerrOr.

No, serioulsy, it's too bad so many smart players are posting on these boardds instead of coaching in proleague, what a waste.
Welp, roach poke seeing more than 6 hellions into no defense vs. hellbat push certainly doesn't make for a pretty game.
Can't say I'm surprised though.

Well yeah, good initial push, but the banshees met the roaches at the watchtower (where there's way enough time to save 5-6 out of 7 roaches). Other choice: losing all without gaining anything for it.

What? So many mistakes were made. That game was not decided by Cure playing really well but more by Dark's huge mistakes and miscalls. So he either "went full foreigner" (i.e. doing really stupid things because he's not capable of performing on a really high level (currently)), or he "threw the game" which means that he surrendered the game to his opponent by his plays. Where's your problem? You're interpreting "threw the game" as "whoa whoa betting scandal". While that might overshadow misplays these days, it doesn't necessarily have to be implicated all the time someone plays bad.
*maybe* you should stop reading into my words the way you want to understand them.

You can tell how much planning sOs puts into these builds. SKT terrans love the delayed stim mine drop forever style, and forge + DT lets him repel drop harass while punishing the lack of infrastructure (no 3rd, add-ons, marine upgrades, or engineering bay).
So my bets are off, but holy... Batman, my FPL! Maru won, sOs won, JAGW won and soO won... this will be the best no trade season so far(for me, obviously )

He was their in-house champion one year ago back when they had Rain, SK and PartinG too, and he still hasn't done shit in individual leagues. In-house practice means little in regard to actual skill compared to players from the outside. He is the ace though, but I don't think anyone would rank Dark above INnoVation if we were to Power Rank Koreans players.

Dark has only really shown elite form against terran, and he has lost to cure like 3 times this year. Also outside of his proleague finals he kind of choked in individual leagues. If he shows more skill against Protoss and against Zerg he will be in the conversation of being an elite player like Life and Rogue.
Edit: I will also add his skill is in a meta and map pool where zerg is heavily favored over terran (in macro games). It's not really that surprising Dark consistently wins against Terrans on maps like Vaani and Expedition lost..
Also all of darks wins are literally in perfect win conditions (when the terran is not aggressive), it is true that Dark has fantastic mechanics, though. He takes a lot of bad fights off creep and just doesn't understand the non ZvT matchup

But hey, at least PartinG had the time to play Gfinity, win the tournament (300 WCS points!), get drunk and forget everything. SKT clearly doing him a favour <.<
Looks like sOs is once again moving towards being the best Protoss in the world again. Dream is a current top 3 Terran right now and sOs defeated him.
It was like yesterday when sOs won Blizzcon and IEM. Watching is play in this game versus Dream, he is starting to outshine players like Zest and herO again. sOs's games against Terran is on another level right now.

I think Dark deserves most of the hype he gets, though maybe not all of it. The guy is pretty good at Starcraft. Rogue is definitely undervalued/hyped still.
Cure: 5"7" 140lbs of bowl cut Korean team house intensity!
'Elite player' like Rogue. He's no doubt good, debatably better than Dark, but if you're going to pile him into that category, Dark is definitely in that category as well.
Also perfect conditions? Vaani is considered favoured for Terran due to the easy droppable natural and the small distance to the fourth for that parade push.
Dark is definitely overrated, but there is a reason why he is overrated. It's because underneath all that hype, he is a damn good player.
Edit: Also Rogue got wrecked by Hydra... so, your argument of 'individual leagues meh' is also applicable to Rogue (he also got wrecked by Stats 3-0 in SSL). Not saying Rogue isn't good, because he is definitely top 3, but I'm saying Rogue and Dark are in the same pool. Dark just has more publicity due to team, and his play style that makes him seem 'good'.
Not often do I join the caster hate train but Jesus Christ does Wolf know anything about Starcraft? He is absolutely incredulous when Cure immediately gets Marines after a CC first. Who the hell opens CC first into Reapers? That would delay hellions by so much. I'm sure it has happened before on some occasion but to seriously think that is the most common play and to be taken aback when he sees Marines being trained is retarded.

I'm actually ashamed.
Yeah I was hugely disappointed when sOs opened 10gate 1gas against Dream and Wolf was all "fast Stargate fast Stargate fast Stargate" until the MSC had already floated into sOs's natural. What the hell? The 10gate MSC pressure has been around since the beginning of HOTS and sOs blew up MarineKing with one in the most recent PvT Premier final back in December (Hot6ix Cup Final Game 1).
