to be fair if you search for it Katy Perry does say some parts of her performance were prerecorded because of the amount of movement required so I was wrong overall about it being completely live

Think about every concert you've ever been to - it takes a long time to balance the dozens of feeds, amps, levels, etc just for the shape of a room. The room will have different acoustics when it's full of people, so they generally do one pass with it empty, then modify it once the band is ready to go on - what do you think the tech is doing when they're going "check, check, 1, 2"? For something of this scale, you're taking a gigantic bowl and then trying to have a concert in there with no setup? If that was possible, do you think huge acts would take so much prep time before going on *actually live*? No. For something like a Super Bowl, where setup is 20 minutes, they'll pre-record the performance and balance the levels in the open stadium. Then for the half-time show, the performers come out and play and dance and it's cool. But they aren't playing live.

It's not even remotely possible in the 10 minutes they have to set up for a Superbowl.
