Did you see his games against Taeja in WCS America season 3? Or any other ZvTs of his recently? Hyun's play is really on point, it just doesn't have the trademark Kespa crispness that soO's or Dark's does.

Snute is an amazing caster. He has so much knowledge about the game and equally importantly, he's fantastic at using that knowledge to make games more understandable to viewers. Much much better than the same old tired play by play that we hear from lots of casters.

I can't think of anyone else who casts and plays Zerg. It seems like it's mostly Protoss players, for whatever reason.

I wonder if after LoTV, Blizzard would consider adding LAN support to SC2. Since their primary concern is $ and piracy, a year or so after LoTV release would be the best time to add it.

One that really sticks out to me is the first time I ever saw Stephano way back in an EG Masters Cup when Sen was on Fnatic he beat Stephano so bad in the ZvZ that he agreed to play Protoss the second game. Maybe Polt could have won if he had directed his main force to the third? He could have sniped the third while keeping an avenue of escape, by going into the main he kinda trapped himself. Such a crazy game.

I find it difficult to rate any of MMA's matchups because he plays like a god with preparation but looks awful without it. It's hard to tell if he is just bad at the matchup or simply didn't prepare for it.

After MKP Polt and Bomber during WoL. (Mvp had really weak TvP, he was just smarter and had more will power than his opponents) Innovation early HotS, then Maru/Polt. When Taeja was on he was pretty unstoppable too.

He did have some good games towards the end though like his TvZ vs TaeJa in WCS AM so you could be right about maybe he was just getting to predictable. that ling bane game just made me feel like he was burnt out or something for the year.
Note: If Polt wins this series, the champion of the host nation will be eliminated without ever having played on the main stage. I feel like that's sub-optimal.

Any unit with micro potential in the hands of gods like Rain and herO makes for some amazing games. Sigh.. I hope blizzard understands this with the implementation of LoTV.

I feel like as terren you have to rethink some of your strategies on expedition. I think the back rocks force you to play slightly more defensive with perhaps a later 3rd cc. otherwise I don't see how you can hold roach all ins on two fronts.

It's funny how uneven the difficulty is. One minute they throw you the hardest fucking fight in the game out of the blue, the next you get a particular character that makes the game a total cakewalk from there on.

I don't understand why Polt doesn't build tanks and change his play style. He knew it was going to be Roach Hydra. It's the reason why he loses half the time.

Regardless of his personality which I find grating at times I think he brings attention to the scene and generates a lot of hype. I'll start. His control and engagement management seemed very good but his builds seem really off. I don't see him getting past RO16 this season but would like to be proven wrong. What will be interesting to see is if he sticks it out and improves to a Snute/Scarlett level of foreigner or whines and finds a reason to quit again.

Out of the six PvP maps so far, I think only one of them actually went to the more "traditional" PvP, i.e. 1-to-2-base aggression wars that end before either player hits Colossus tech.

oh I wasn't bashing him (my bad on the spelling), cause his casting has been really good - I was just saying it demonstrates how hard doing play by play in the engagements when you have to be super fast is. makes you really appreciate how Nathanias can do it.
This is basically how Harstem's series against Rain went, except 20 minutes longer and on higher tech. Takes a big advantage and just made these tiny mistakes that cost him.

Whilst i think that statement is true, don't forget the players he is playing with/against. Just ask Oli about the level of PvP Classic and Rain have and im pretty sure they are both top 3 in his rankings at PvP

Has Harstem ever trained in Korea? Honestly I think he's capable of playing on the same level as Snute (Code A/RO 32 Code S) but he tends to make some mistakes in the late game despite some clever play. Micro mistakes, afraid of engagements, and some minor decision choices.

I feel he plays great but the skill difference means that if he makes a small mistakes he gets punished, he's not throwing at all, he just can't keep the same level as Classic and Rain all game long.

Maybe 1.5x at most. The only major difference imo is experience (they experience these high level games more often) and crisper mechanics/decision making.

I mean if some other clever foreigners didn't make so many micro mistakes, wouldn't be afraid of things and made better decisions they'd also probably be Code A/RO32 Code S level.

While I could expand on other parts of this post, I'll simply say that Harstem did train in Taiwan as an invited competitor in a previous TeSL, where he finished third overall.

Is that what you think? What I think is that SEn has been playing in Taiwan for a while now, showed top tier foreigner results before sticking to Taiwan, and also while being in Taiwan. I'm not going to say he's been one of the top players in the world, but the games he's shown have definitely been top tier as far as foreigners are concerned.
Winning the Taiwan Open is also pretty big. Not HUGE, but definitely a worthy accomplishment.
I'd like to know what brings you to make a post like that.
