Haha fair enough, i am not the biggest Stats fan either, but that doesn't matter, i think he will win that group (i actually like Life and herO more, but i don't think Life will make it :/)
I think whoever wins the initial PvP wins the group, herO beats life and then herO needs to hope that Life beats the losing PvPer or he'll have a hard time

He had a probe running passed stalkers. He got into the main base, then when oracle got there they should his vision and he had seen it morphing in. My guess he either didn't click it or didn't expect it to complete so soon. However was poor judgement to sack the oracle he should of bought it home, defended then hit counter and would of been fine.

I have no idea how a PvP build can go without a 5:45ish robo. If you're unsure of your opponent's build, not building it is like asking for DTs to slay you.
Can someone good at PvP explain me why you wouldn't make an oracle first when opening SG? It gives you the opportunity to pressure and protection against DTs. I guess you put yourself at a disadvantage in case of phoenix wars though.

I have no clue. I have a 20% winrate against Protoss atm. The matchup went from my best to my worst in like a month because I have zero clue how to beat this build. My only clues so far are that swarm hosts, ling/hydra and mutas all suck equally. My current take on it is going full WoL...

the roach/ling into muta on 60Ish drones looks good if you can force some mistakes. it looks like aggressive zerg are the ones doing the best in zvp right now for what i saw.

herO is actually my favorite to finish WCS rank #1 at the end of the year. His PvP seems to be his "weak" matchup. His PvT is crazy strong, and same for his PvZ.

Yup, herO's control was superb. Just the right amount of forcefields and where they needed to be, waited till colossus and Life found himself stuck with roach/hydra and weak economy.

That was basically the exact game that Life played against Rain and lost...refuses to get a 4th base and insists on sticking to roach-hydra...I don't get it. He canceled the third base multiple times, why didn't he go grab a 4th, put down a hive/spire, and either start harassing her0's main with mutas or get some vipers? At that point he could have easily defended with his roach-hydra force, and was already up 3-2 bases.

Yeah, I feel that he just wanted to 3b all-in anyway, but why? It hasn't worked for him in the past, Rain did the exact same thing to him in that exact same situation.
And there's no way he should have been afraid of a counterattack, after canceling the 3rd base for the 3rd(?) time, he had enough of a roach-hydra force to be able to hold off a counterattack while grabbing a 4th base and teching up to hive/spire.

Thanks ! Life can be so stubborn at times. I don't think he ever won a relevant game on Nimbus with his SH style except vs San at Blizzcon. I picture very well what happened on Catallena. He had a similar game against Rain recently. I think he'll do better vs Classic who loves stargate styles. He'll do the same plan he applied to beat Zest at Blizzcon : "make roach".

You might think that but it isn't actually correct.
herO's harassment so much more successful, but he just can't take a fight to save his life. Also interesting that even after those Storm drops he barely had a worker lead anyway. Stats is less flashy but just seems to have the better grasp of the matchup.

I think that was another problem of hero not assessing the situation correctly and being over aggressive, but it made for a pretty awesome game to watch.

Life killed the back rocks, herO thought it was only 6 lings and that he could hold with zealot + mothership core. Turns out it was almost 30 lings and herO lost 13 probes and a nexus

Life immidiatly going for the backdoor rocks, masses more and more zerglings. herO immidiatly scouts that the backdoor is under attack. Builds a zealot. The zealot dies, zerglings swarm in, kill tons of probes and the nexus at the main. herO counters with a 4gate and loses.

Really thought Classic and Life, ended up being Life and Stats. Guess I'm OK with that. I don't know why but I didn't see herO making it out of this group.

Not having played vs Life was a big factor for Stats to win vs herO. Life playstyle looks so mentally exhausting for his opponent.
Yeah i felt pretty good for Stats to play PvP. He has Zest to practice with after all. And herO didnt look too hot in his last PvP matches. But from what i read here, Stats advanced because herO threw the games? That would be unfortunate, but doesnt matter. Win is win^^

Wow just caught up, great stuff by Life. Yes, why fuck around? Gotta love him for this boldness.He makes the right decisions. When you turtle he expands, when you expand he gets aggressive. He can assess the enemies infrastructure to know when the start of an all-in has a high chance of being successful, and just executes it.
Seems like Classic is just another Roro/Sniper/Jjakji/Seed. I would be very surprised if he does not retire soon. Then again, he can pull a Jjakji and make some round or 4's or whatever in international tournaments.
