Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3 | Game 4 | Ace Match
Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3 | Game 4 | Ace Match Game 1 | Game 2 | Game 3 | Game 4 | Ace Match
(T)Maru <Foxtrot Labs> (Z)Life (P)sOs <King Sejong Station> (Z)Leenock (could go either way) (T)Cure <Deadwing> (P)San (P)Trap <Merry Go Round> (T)aLive(could go either way)
Maru <Foxtrot Labs> Life: Life takes this one with some very aggressive play most likely some sort of roach bane all-in and eventually finishes Maru off. He knows his team will need every win they can get this match if they want to make it to the ace match even.
sOs <King Sejong Station> Leenock Leenock has been hot lately but you can't say his wins have been against anyone of sOs's caliber and sOs won't let his team down after Maru loses the opening set. Not taking anything from Leenock should be a good game but his winning streak ends tonight.
Cure <Deadwing> San Cure will be ready for any Sanesque shenanigans that might be pulled out in the early game. After holding his superior macro and late game should allow him to take this game for JinAir especially on Deadwing where he can play out a long game easily.
Trap <Merry Go Round> aLive I haven't seen aLive in awhile or on any kind of stage like SPL so he could come out and surprise me but I can't see him taking this game from Trap. Even though Trap's PvT has never been his best matchup I think he is the overall better player and will not risk letting yoeST get to an ace match.
Still kinda hoping it goes to an ace match for more SC2 but thats my thoughts on the outcome
Jin Air 3-0, maybe 3-1 as I think San has a decent shot at winning his match. But as long as STYoe has teamleague Life playing for them and not individual tournament Life, I don't see them winning much... :-(
First day at work in 2015, got home early and SPL just around the corner. Life's good. Also, I hope Life will do good today. I'm all Startale in FPL this season :S

I really like some of the overpitched sounds. Protoss sounds really cool with it, while terran, meh. But at least I am not the only one who hears that.
I think that was the worst i seen Maru play in a while wtf xD Just like he couldn't macro, forget his ebays it seems for 1-1, unless wanted to push with hellbars and just stimmed Marines without combat shield...hmm strange build!

Life catching the 5 helions was key in this game. Maru didnt react till the perfect ling attack on em and then marus goal, the first push against lifes 3rd should clearly bring life far behind. And with 7 instead of 2 hellbets, it could have worked out fine.

Yeah Life scouted the hellions with a ling. Then took all his lings and presplitted them and went for it. Was a big catch

That was such a strange game.... and an even more disappointing ending. Really thought sOs could have taken that one. If he just backed off from the locusts he had enough room to pull back and then re-engage after another warp in. I really didn't understand that at all. He even had 1k minerals didn't he or am I mistaken?? On top of the economic damage, it's not like Leenock was miles ahead?
Thinking about the army size alone tho I suppose it was just about to snowball.... he didn't have aoe and there were a lot of locusts and corrupters still left. I think if he had switched to storm even a few minutes earlier it could have been very close.

OH! And that first big engagement I gotta talk about that complete botchery.... what the hell was sOs doing?? He was about to WIN when he was in Leenock's natural with a huge army advantage. Then he missed his FF and blocked his zealots, then he didn't pull them back and let them die.... AND he could have easily pulled back and sniped the hatchery but he just sat there letting his zealots die until Leenock could just push back and then we saw the immortal sentry massacre that won him the game. THAT was so frustrating to watch especially when it's sOs someone you think would be able to control his units so much better than that.
Albeit he was getting countered at his 3rd but cmon dude you're sOs, multitask that shit!! At least pull your units back if youre gonna look away from your main army!!

No its isn't. I'm watching the livestream in great quality
I can live with Maru v Life being a loss. sOs v Leenock is a Leenock favored matchup IMO, as Leenock sort of excels in the style of games sOs forces upon his opponents. Cure and Trap and sOs v Life Ace... Ye right. GO JINAIR HOPE IS NOT LOST!!!!!!!!!!!
@SicPro I think he was trying to set up a trap, hold positioning to get back cd on Charge, then FF Roaches when they go forward and Charge into it. Leenock was just better about this engagement.
When i first saw Moonglade i thought he looked a little bit like Andrew W.K., but like he said, anyone with long hair. I used to get told i looked like Legolas then i got a haircut and people realised i didn't look like him at all.

Yeah but he had already missed the FF and they were gonna take a while to dissipate and his zealots just SAT there dieing while he could have easily pulled back and focused the hatch.... then if he wanted to not even finish off the hatch and set up another trap attempt he could have after the ff went away. Idk man he had so much sentry energy... coulda easily just done SO many things there... he had the roaches in that corner ff'd off.... could kept them there, sniped the nat... and gone up into the main and FF the ramp. I guess since no MS core with army he wasn't gonna go for it but he lost his army anyway trying to retreat back home.

Umm...is the game freezing and then going super-fast for anyone else? The commentary is the same, but the game both visually and audially is being strange.

Nice thing is, the entire Jin Air team except for Maru is a pretty safe bet vs Startales "I cant lift my trophie cus I'm a weak piece of shit" aka Life
I'm mentally prepared for a stupid ace pick by ST. Like San or Hack.
Life or maybe Leenock the only reasonable pick.

Did a great job keeping him on the defensive until then.
Question: Could alive have just pulled back and got his army, Vikings mainly, into a better position? Or was huge forced to engage? Seemed like he could have pulled back Vikings while he stutter stepped back with bio to protect them no?

Alive did not keep Trap on the defensive man! Trap got a relatively fast third whilst going collosus and double ups. He was on the map with his stalkers all game long constantly chipping damage.
In the final engagement, Alive was too close. He could lose a ton to the stalkers once they were under the vikings. Bio can't kite well vs chargelot collosus without viking support. He could only have risked his third

When you're behind in supply against toss before losing any units and with a build order advantage, you know something is going wrong and it doesn't have to do with engagements.
Oooh, baby (Baby) It's for sure (It's for sure) I got the fever, yeah and you've got the Cure (got the Cure) And I said, Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah (Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!)

You're right i worded that wrong. What i meant was he did a nice job of at least making him pull hogs army back to buy the time he needed to get out Vikings. But shoulda been going for more two pronged attacks. I think we saw one half assed one with a few bio that was it.
Gonna be super disappointed if Life can't put his super powers to work here in the ace match. LIFEUUU FIGHTING!!!!
I get one point if Jin Air wins this (from Trap's team winning), but I feel it's better for KT if Jin Air loses since they're the big rivals this season.
Catallena really allows terran do claw back in to the game. Nice preparation by Cure, fallback to drops is strong on Catallena. Let's see if he can establish his third.

Obviously they must have had faith in Cure's TvZ, given that Life was almost guaranteed to play the ace for ST (if not him, Leenock).
Cure didn't play bad at all, just that Life got so massively ahead with the opening build. Also hindsight is 20/20.

Cure has great TvZ though
Cure got himself VERY far behind with the BO that Life read well, he almost got back in with some sick micro and multitasking.
Life, Leenock, and MKP doing well in Korea. Alive getting some airtime. Naniwa qualified for WCS. Scarlett dodging attention left and right. All we need is Stephano to emerge from his hole and we have 2012 all over again
The final match was a lot closer than it may have appeared; Life's scout on Cure's build gave him such a large advantage economically that even a perfect execution of that timing would have lost him the game.
Cure also stayed in the game for much longer than he should have by going heavy medivacs into multi-pronged harass which allowed him to get a third cc and delay Life's inevitable death march.
Still at the end you can see Life's micro skill with lings, taking a perfect engagement on creep
On January 12 2015 22:37 The_Red_Viper wrote: JinAir should play Rogue again tbh
I agree since Rogue and Cure are the only non-awful players on my main team. I made a gimmick team "Choya and Friends" that was mostly MVP players and they're letting me down hard.
My anti-team is doing work though. My line of reasoning was "I actually like Solar, so he'll be disappointing as fuck" and it's working out pretty well.

Exactly. Life was surely the Ace player. And since he is a ZvT expert, look at how many top-tier terrans (MMA, Taeja, ForGG) he has crushed in the past few months, the coach should have send sOs or Trap who is a protoss where Life is less as strong against. Even Rogue would be better I think. Sending a Terran against Life just makes no sense based on his winrate against Terran.
