Then Life vs Flash in round one wouldn't have happened and they would have both made it further imo I wouldn't be sure of anyone qualifying for this tournament, with neither Zest nor soO doing so. True, you can never be sure with how unforgiving and volatile these qualifiers are. I just meant that Life is in good form right now so he'd have a pretty good chance at qualifying. In the end though I'm pretty happy he got a seed to eliminate tat small chance of him not making it

People are complaining about seeds here but are also complaining that Zest and soO didn't get seeds. I think 3 or 4 seeds is ok for that extra hype, no more than that though.. Well, those are different people with different opinions. 100% qualification is the best as far as I'm concerned. Zest and soO failing to qualify for both individual leagues shows that artificially protecting the best performers of the last months is stupid/counterproductive. Just look at how Flash performed today, I don't even want to imagine the bashing had he been invited instead...

Life and TY won. Surprise surprise (-.-) zzzZZZZ
But Dream beating Solar... wow just wow. I didn't think Dream had it in him to beat a top 3 Zerg. Seriously, Solar is one of the best Zergs in the world and Dream just stomps him like this? Great play by Dream. This clearly shows that Dream has what it takes to be contender for best player in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if Dream won this whole thing. He is that good right now.

With the zerg-heavy lineup that SSL is boasting, Dream should be able to crush everyone pretty easily as long as he avoids the non-zergs and the zergs that are really good at ZvT. He's been wrecking face everywhere too!

I think seeds were not used to determine matches for challenge and were defined randomly. I mean, players who finished first in their qualifier group were matched against other first (Dark vs Parting) or second against second (Solar vs Dream).

I think it would've been good if they had been seeded, the qualifiers are just that brutal that the best player in the world can get knocked out easily. It's not like the WCS qualifer were you have 7 tries and the best player will surely make it. So to have real consistent champions and storylines, like back in BW/wc3, they should've just seeded the best 4/8 performers into the next tournament, just as they did back then. Thankfully that will be the case again from season 1 to 2 afaik. Just sad they didn't do it from last season into this one. For WCS the reset makes sense, because of the new regulations and 7 qualifiers, but for GSL there should've been seeds. SoO had a real Yellow storyline going, something like that is needed for starcraft in Korea and now we won't see him at all :/.
Edit: If they would adjust the qualifier it would also be ok, but they won't do that.

Hey that interviewer girl is on the subway. She changed into pants. Haha

Games today are a bit meh compared to yesterday. Highlights today was game 2 of ty vs Scarlett. Ty's multi-tasking was insane, even the observer couldn't keep up. Moonglade had to keep telling us about other attacks elsewhere happening at the same time. Another good point was dream's Thor medivac micro. Pre split the bio and mines. Micro the Thor. Nice.

He would have lost to a lot more players than just Life

Also I think the games were not too bad, just mines being mines -.-".

Hell, I think even Scarlett could have beaten him today. If only the KT players were switched around...

At least Flash can focus 100% on SPL now, TY needs individual triumphs more.

For GSL, keeping a few seeds would have been OK since going from Code S RO4/runner-up/winner to Code B is a bit brutal, though a full reset is fine by me too (problem was more the lack of Code A for the top48 players, i.e. those who ended up top3 in those qualifiers). They should either run the qualifiers like in WCS Europe this season, or use a full double elimination bracket with the 2 qualifying matches (Winner bracket finals + Loser bracket finals) being bo5. For the rest, the upset/lottery aspect is sadly fully assumed from SC2 developers, so... /:

I had to go to work about 10-12 minutes into the 2nd game of Life vs. Flash. Flash was up ~45 supply and putting huge pressure on Life's 3rd while Life was struggling to defend with a few roaches and slow banes. How did he manage to win that game!?

He threw away his game by being too aggressive and overstimming his bio against parting, and then threw away game today because he got too cautious against life.

Over Flash yes, most people expected Scarlett to get destroyed so it wasn't so bad.
