~*~ Merry Christmas Team Liquid ~*~ We're going to pick somebody out of this thread after the tournament to award a BaseTradeTV T-Shirt! We'll cover shipping etc :-) Condition: make some good predictions! good luck!
I have to miss most of this stuff live, due to a job interview, but I am so marathoning them when I get back home. Is the 3rd place match a bo5 or a bo7?
Too bad YoDa got a perfect engagement from both sides before we got to zoom in on the tripoint of those sensor towers to get a close up on the earthquake.

The third place match is a smaller BoX than the quarters or semis? That seems weird to me. Should be equal or longer imo... later stages should be longer BoX matches than earlier ones, as the players are more likely to be closer in ability (as they both progressed through the earlier stages), and so longer BoX matches are required to pick the better of the two.

Players rarely give their best for third place matches, so I'm not surprised by the decision to play a simple bo3

I still have yet to meet a player that enjoys playing 3rd place matches, regardless of prize money

Why have them in the tourney then? I guess to fill out for final day, since semis originally weren't going to be played today?
What do you think of a pre-finals fun showmatch instead? I remember Destiny vs Incontrol, was pretty fun!
Fair enough; that's disappointing to hear. I'd imagine if the prize differential between 3rd and 4th was substantial enough, it may motivate players more.

Yo Rifkin, please have MarineKing in your next tourney, do you have any contacts that could ask him directly?
Also, I love your content. You have great enthusiasm and it's cool how you went from a mediocre stream to producing the biggest online SC2 tourneys. Much respect to you guys

What? At what point of the game did you write this?
Right before he did the ling/bane counter in a 3base vs 3base ZvMech scenario where the Mech player got double upgrades, 3CCs and two hellbat attacks that traded for gas-units of 1fac+1starport. I'm counting the 2terrible counter attacks of Yoda as "lucky busts"

Solar scouted 2rax, pulled 3 drones and delayed 2nd rax, forced 3 SCVs to be pulled.

I meant the previous game, losing with late-game mech is something you really have to try to do

didn't like YoDa's composition too much, it's hard to beat but doable. The bigger surprise was that Solar out of all people beat it.

Really? It often happen though. Damn player trying not to get nerf by freelosing!

"unbalanced"
yeah, I wouldn't except Solar to win a game vs mech
What the fuck, I was going to award just 1 random shirt but this is so fucking scary this guy wins one as well for bonus. Jesus, those predictions. TheDwf send me a Pm here on or on twitch if you'd like a T-shirt :-)

Solar is playing his SSL match today so the VODs are only available for subscribers until those games have finished
