If you are a foreign language streamer and would like to cast this, please PM me. You will have to stream on dingit,
There will be a BO7 where the winner will take $200.
The $200 prize pool is being funded by DingIt - they are a new streaming platform that is really awesome and who I am going to be doing a lot of work for!
DingIt is a new streaming platform. It uses an optimized streaming protocol, so end users see a lag-free and buffer-free stream using far less resources (including bandwidth) than any other live streaming or VOD site on the web. More details here: + Show Spoiler +
Only in their 5th week of Beta, the platform is really only just getting up and running! During this time we would love to get your feedback and any requests or suggestions you may have.
DingIt was developed by OC Shield Ltd. an enterprise technology provider based in Europe. OC Shield financed the development and launch of DingIt and spun it off as an independent company - DingMedia Ltd. In addition to OC Shield financing, DingMedia is set to complete its first round of funding.
A DOWNLOAD? REALLY? WHY?
DingIt uses our own unique streaming protocol, which provides a better quality stream using MUCH less bandwidth. Our proprietary platform includes a unique video player that you'll need to download to see the stream. Like Netflix or Flash, its a one time download that will update automatically as we make improvements to it.
For more information about the player, please see: Softpedia NEW STREAMING PLATFORM? Where is the money coming from??!!
Please take a look at the further details on TL or on the main page. Dingit (Dingmedia Ltd.) is owned by a much larger firm (OC Shield) who do all the development in house! Are the players getting paid?!?!?!
They sure are! And on time! For the last DingIt event, all involved were paid within 24 hours! Any other panic?!
Please post your question here, we will respond as soon as possible!
Will try my best to be online. Do not want to miss that ownage !!! I also have no problems with having to download that software, can always erase/delete it afterwards/or because of problems.

In online events, Huk has a 4-3 series lead over Scarlett, and hasn't lost to her online yet this year. Huk is favored for sure.
Oh damn, I just realized I'll be at work when this happens. No way in hell I can download a streaming service there... looks like I won't be watching this one.

I agree, this is really a NA showmatch, push this back to when most NA people can actually watch!

You are correct, the fact that The_Templar might miss this due to timezone saddens me too.

Plz Madals, for templar's sake, move the time around.
I would love to be able to do it later - but we have ASL on www.dingit.tv/channel/asl at 1400pst so don't want to clash with them!
Uhh there's no way I'm downloading some random software.
Have you checked out the softpedia link? The player (by octoshape) is used by Direct TV, eurovision and was the player used for this years Soccer Wold Cup & has been downloaded 100million+ times!
How is this supposed to use MUCH less bandwidth?
Without going into lots of boring details, we use a different streaming protocol that doesn't use anywhere near as much bandwidth - the player is needed to connect and decompress this protocol. Our system also doesn't need ingester servers, which is another area where lag and loss of quality can occur!

Well we all used to watch GSL on the GOM player :D
Damn it, your right. And I still use GOM player to this day. Still, work = no random downloads, so for live viewing (especially at that time in NA) it still sucks

There will be a spoiler free VOD available within an hour of the broadcast ending. Will be sure to link it here

I don't think that is possible. They are using UDP instead of TCP and there may be some very minor savings in implementing your own protocol but unless they also have created a revolutionary video codec nobody knows about there won't be any bandwidth savings to speak of.
However i have no trouble believing that using UDP with your own protocol instead of TCP has the potential to offer higher throughput.

Its jsut a way to get you to install their software :D. Watch out, its the NSA!
you guys need some bugfixing on those seek algorithms, im clicking somewhere in the vid and playback jumps randomly all the time
so i wanna see this match, i think this thing installed itself automatically, at least i got no setup progress bar or anything using the windows installer
but im getting TLO vs Harstem for some reason, are the vods still not up?
On November 25 2014 05:25 xtorn wrote: you guys need some bugfixing on those seek algorithms, im clicking somewhere in the vid and playback jumps randomly all the time
It's a known issue, fix is already in the works! Thanks for pointing it out though <3
Hey Madals, as you seem to be involved with DingIt do you know whether there's an API like the one Twitch offers? Would be useful for having the stream get listed on TL and my own site

There is an API already available - TL are using it! Email the Dingit support to get it
Just to clarify, the games were played yesterday due to her dentist appointment. Nobody other than HuK and Scarlett have seen the games and they are in a spoiler free format so I dont even know the result!

50% win rate against me probably
New showmatch, let's make it happen! Scarlett after Dentist vs Templar.

Aw dang. Oh well, we'll get Scarlett high as fuck and make her play some other time.

Tbh I'm pretty salty that the result was spoiled because I was thinking about watching this. But at least now I don't have to download the player and I can watch FBM instead.
Yeah it sucks, especially for Madals.
I'm still gonna watch it, could still be fun games, I like ToD's casting a lot and unlike you I find it exciting to try a new streaming service - competition is good! :D

The showmatch is being casted from replays. They're not playing right now.

Oh I know, but I'm surprised she can even tweet.
I've had teeth taken out before. It's not as bad as people think it is going to be. I don't know what happened with Scarlett, but I only had local painkillers so that it was only my jaw that was numb. The rest of me was fine more or less, except I was really tired sooner than I'd usual be. Certainly able to stay awake and Tweet in the immediacy though o_O
That... kind of shocks me. Every time my family's had it done it was a huge deal with anesthetics and all that. We don't even have particularly bad teeth or anything.

lmao man, i missed your posts around here lately.
Yeah I pretty much just spam the WoW thread with balance whining these days. All 'bout that Dota 2.
This makes me sad
The balance whine or the Dota?
the lack of SC2
Eh, I'm still here. I'm really just waiting to see if LotV can turn Sc2 into the game I always wanted it to be. In the mean time I'm completely mobafied.

As someone who never played or was aware of BW until SC2 came out... it really makes me wonder if I'd like sc2 as much if I was around back then.
this dingit thing is quite good, i really get no lag whatsoever; i think their software might be smarter than i thought, they might do some pre-buffering in the background
though i wish they didnt pause stream on single mouse click (or at least show a big pause icon when its paused). I dont like the fonts on the website though

Honestly? Probably not. The game had a lot of accidental stuff that added tons of depth just by sheer happenstance. Almost impossible to emulate. Kind of like how D2 veterans were rather lukewarm in their attitude to D3, something was just missing.

that really sucks. i guess that's why a lot of BW fans didn't carry over to SC2. I guess that makes me glad in a way because I can enjoy sc2 without thinking there's something missing.

Just as an illustration of the difference in gameplay, I think this game almost encapsulates the difference in a very concise and visual way.

Yeah but she has no army in first place because she overdrone.

I spent/wasted years of my life on D2. Loved the game. Was a pretty wicked PvPer too. Since the expansion and loot 2.0 I'm having lots of fun in D3. A few weeks ago, at a mini-LAN, I wanted to spend a day or so running a 7 man party of mostly D2 old timers through D2 for the first time in a few years. We didn't even make it too Andariel before we quit, all agreeing that it just doesn't hold up.
I also played Broodwar. A lot. The esports side of it never grabbed me though. I don't play SC2 much beyond the campaigns (which are great IMO) but I'm pretty addicted to the esports side of things for well over a year now (and been following it on and off since 2012 I think).
My point being that that "something" a lot of people claim is lacking from sc2/d3 is mostly just nostalgia IMO.
That was all in all a pretty fun showmatch. Mostly because it was a close one though. Scarlett was playing pretty sloppy IMO. I've seen her do a lot better.
