HSC isn't about only inviting the top tier players though. It's the whole social experience and fun aspects too.

To be honest, hasuobs dayshi and ret socke were the most fun games to watch for me :/
The level of skill seems to be way behind the koreans, but that makes the outcome unpredictable and more enjoyable.

Have to keep in mind that not every player is willing to pay to travel to the event.
Imo an open qualifier where you can qualify would be the best, with top X getting paid travel. Or maybe doing something based on ladder rankings.
But overall I'm fine with it the way it is. We still have some top foreigners like Snute and Bunny to go far!

Besides, I think it's more important to have funny players at HSC in general and players with some HSC history in special for HSCX. Happy and Welmu for example are really socially awkward. For Scarlett and HuK it could really be about travel. And Vortix is perfoming badly at the moment.
