This game would be boring as shit if upsets could not happen. Part of the fun of watching sports/competitions/skills events is that you truly don't know what the result is going to be before you start. I think the hype will be just as high if not higher - imagine "Zest, the Kingslayer, the best player in the world" versus the situation of "Life, former GSL wunderkind, defeating the best player in the world in shocking style, what can he do at Blizzcon?" I think both are very exciting possibilities. yeah i dont understand why so many people have that attitude. i mean i totally understand that if you like a player you don't want him to drop out, but a lot of people get angry or disappointed if the "lesser" player wins a series because they "shouldn't have" or it means the games won't be as good. huh? the whole point of bracketed tournaments is the potential for upsets and the need to perform in the clutch. if you just want the historically better player to win every time why not just watch 500 zest vs soo showmatches? some smart aleck will reply saying they would love to watch 500 zest vs soo showmatches, but realistically even that would get old after a while. that's why we watch leagues and tournaments, sports entertainment is not about skill but narrative | ||

I have no problem with "upsets" (i don't think JD was am upset, and the Taeja vs soO series was pretty much 50:50 too). I just think it sucks that it DIDN'T happen at Blizzcon  It just feels underwhelming, it would have been 100 times as hype if it happened in front of a huge crowd, not in a studio -.- | ||

Taeja vs Innovation is a rematch of this insane series :O:O:O:O Life vs San may appear to be in Life's favor after he showed that (yes yes, probably only on that day) he was clearly superior to Zest, but imo San is very much a dark horse who could cause yet another upset. Classic vs herO is just awesome; herO is probably both head and heart favorite for most, but Classic is here to show that he aint just a patchtoss. The only match i don't feel too hyped about is actually Bomber vs MMA, but maybe MMA has a chance? dunno.. Btw, I have been rewatching some vods from 2013 (from Best SC2 VODs (the longer games, the shorter ones are just cheeses) and a lot of the games just seem sooo FAST. Will we see anything like that? Perhaps in a Life vs T match? | ||
