I guess they just share the prize money, why wouldn't you even try when 1st place is 1800 and second place is 400 ?

He got to the finals like that. How do you know he wasn't serious?

I'm not a fan of Maru by any stretch, but I'd have liked to see him play an actual game once. And I'm sure the organizers didn't expect this when they invited him and he agreed to play.

Pretty sad, I know they don't want to reveal builds and stuff all the time but gets dull watching weird stuff with so much money on the line ~ Might have been because of teammates etc too creating weird games.

But also the fact the Korean players are denying the Chinese casters access to some of the games (of their own tournament) is just ridiculous...

I'm disappointed as well, if they want to hide their builds then they should just not participate in that kind of tourneys

But they can win money doing it so why not ^^ I mean the Jin Air players together took $2400 from this ~

...didn't like the games too much today, especially in the last rounds, it seemed that many players really didn't care about playing in this tournament: the lack of "at least trying to make it look normal" was underwelming... kinda sad but I hope this can be used as a lesson for the next round of invites...

The thing is that these Jin Air players are probably the biggest names they can get to play in Leifeng Cup so they'll keep inviting them. Maybe sans Maru the next time.

...ofc these Jin Air players are super top notch and it is understandable that they are not going to play this kind of tournaments as they would play the GSL finals and that they may "throw away" one or two of the games to experiment weird stuff (especially considering that 3 out of 4 of the last men standing were teammates) to laugh it off a bit... in this series, though, we saw great players (ByuN, Solar, Super, GuMiho and Patience to say some that are no less top notch that the JAGW guys) but none of them behave like this......
...obviously having names like Maru and sOs in a tournament is really catchy and gathers a lot of attention but if this is the result I think sometimes it can be better to have a middle-level korean trying than a top-level korean playing random all-ins all the time...

Kung Fu CUP, they have KT's top players and they play decent games.

Kung Fu Cup had way more money on the line. I doubt you can even get KT's agreement to play in Leifeng Cup atm.

I'm all for speaking nice about KT but didn't they play as shit last time they played an online tournament? Like TY doing the same unsuccessful build over and over and Zest playing like a Masters league player...
