Found out he was whiped the floor with by Flash for qualifying to this tournament. Also found out he also didn't make it farther in GSL than flash Also he didn't attempt IEM for no particular reason, which then again...who won it? Nice troll Except that Maru is actually able to beat top protosses consistently. Also he won OSL, and he can actually get further than the Ro16 in GSL, and he was one of the best players in PL Flash has been mediocre since he started playing SC2, now he's finally getting decent. Maru's been a top terran for almost 2 years now http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-tournaments/466130-code-s-ro16-group-c-season-3-2014 yeah obvsly, he always beats good protoss I never said always. I said consistently, which is way more than Flash mmkay sorry then Still the last few weeks he is a bit off, so right now I would count a bit more on flash then on Maru, but their completely different playstyle may would have had different results here. Since Maru didn't even qualify we can definately say two weeks ago flash was definately better, maybe that switched back to maru now, dunno we will see. flash was more than a bit off the last 2 years though. he basically was 100% irrelevant for the competitive scene. I'm still not sure if flash will be relevant in 2 months still. i'm very sure that maru will be back in a month o two.

So,no more flash for 2-3 months?

Is this a fucking joke ? Protoss players haven't won anything serious since the patch, the game's balance looks better than ever, and people still find reasons to whine because herO dismantled Flash by straight outplaying him ? Grow up, boys. In a 9 P - 4 T - 3 Z tourney, and considering the caliber of P players who qualified, a PvP finals was extremely likely. Even the bracket raised the odds of a PvP finals, with Flash set to meet soO if they both qualified (soO ended up disappointing so that was irrelevant in the end).
So please, let's just enjoy the finals between two definitely great players. PvP nowadays is really interesting, and Zest vs herO should offer us a very high quality show. If we could watch it without continuous twitch chat level whine that'd be great.

I'm still not sure if flash will be relevant in 2 months still. i'm very sure that maru will be back in a month o two. Well most Kespa players (except for the few still in GSL or attending Blizzcon) are going to be taking long breaks for well over two months now. If I understand the calendar correctly...
Saying Flash has been competitively irrelevant for 2 years is ridiculous, if you say you watch Proleague did you see how he's been either a consistently good-to-great or occasionally dominant force in Proleague the last two years (finishing most wins the previous year)? And people seem to give no credence to multiple GSL Ro16 finishes, but for me, that's a bit ignorant... I guess it's just "haters gonna hate". Or people completely ignore any result that isn't top4 GSL or winning a big tourney...
In 2013, Flash finished 13-16th in WCS Season 1, and 9th-12th in both Season 2 and Season 3. In 2014 he unfortunately stumbled to Code A but fought out of it and returned finally for another 9th-12th finish in Season 3. One could argue he was definitely a top-10 player inside WCS Korea for all of 2013 with those results, or at least very close. And after a poor start to 2014 he finished strong in Proleague and was extremely close to reaching Ro8 this season 3 but we know how that ended. Only this time Flash finally had impressively strong results in online qualifiers against great players, and finally won an individual tournament, and finished a respectable top4 tonight. Stats don't often lie all that much, please go check the current Aligulac ratings for Flash yourself... he's fixed his sometimes dodgy TvT and previously horrible TvP and is definitely peaking right now.
I hate arguing too much about which X player is currently the best of X race, as is with SC2, everyone tends to have slight varying dips and highs in form over the course of a few months. Although yes, Maru has been pretty damn consistent and always been a top2 terran in my eyes for the longest time... seemed to be the only terran that could actually stand up to the Protoss dominance time and time again. But he obviously hasn't ended the year like he wanted to. In GSL, also Proleague, and other official qualifiers. Shame he didn't turn up at the IEM Toronto open bracket, would have loved to see him there. Whatever, at least I'm not currently saying, or ever said, Flash is or ever was the better SC2 player... but results since June suggest Flash should at least be considered as one of the few top-tier Terran these days. At least that's what I'm saying, I know some people are throwing around terms like SC2 bonjwa etc but surely that's just a joke right?
Although people will always troll cuz it's cool to shit on real hype or something, or are one of the few still secretly slightly butthurt about the whole old ESF/Kespa thing. Or do some have beef with a hyped-up Brood War legend [and surely deservedly so?] playing a style they don't like, invading their precious new game supplanting maybe other previously successful players they were fond of? Meh I don't know. I've heard a lot of weird hateful stuff targeted at this guy over the years here. Sigh, whatever, fucking esports. Guess I'll go watch some Dreamhack...

Hoping herO takes it and confirms his seed at Blizzcon.
I also hope it's as good as their Shoutcraft series when herO was 1-3 down and won 4-3.

And whats the reason for such a number of toss players coming out of qualifier in the first place? Skill wise toss is the easiest race to play(even blizz said it) and meta favors them since hots just like the terrans in early wings or zergs in mid-late wings. Just cause some other player wins against all odds doesnt mean toss isnt favored anymore. Toss is just fool proof race atm if youre not outclassed by the opponent and its hard to be 10 times better player just to be able to beat them.

Damm... I hope Flash improve his perfomance next year.
PS: Lucky me to just watch the first series and then go to bed.
