MC loses a lot to people he seems way better than, he can also beat people who seem way better than him though. That's MC .

Aligulac says the same cause that's where WCS Predictor gets the player ratings from. Happy has a higher chance to get 2nd, MC has a slightly higher chance to get 1st, Happy has the better chance overall. It's because MC has a VERY weak vsP.

Big Issue with this WCS point system, like last year. Innovation had 4100 points after Season1 and was already qualified for Blizzcon ~6months before Blizzcon (~5th place if you look the final table of 2013) . I prefer a wcs points system that increases every month by 2%. you won a tournament at april = 750points, you won it at may = 765 points (2nd place 500 -> 510) etc.

MC's biggest problem isn't against a particular race, its that he is easy to predict. Sure he comes out with a fucking cool build, and smashes faces left and right. Later though great players like Flash start to read his game.
He is a great player, but his biggest problem is that sometimes he never has a plan B. This is probably because his macro game is a bit weaker, thus he compensates it with great micro and tricky builds.
His forcefield usage is nearly perfect.
I think Happy has a chance of beating MC, but Happy has to read into MC's build fast. He has to research MC's games.

Why should someone who wins Dreamhack in September get more points than someone who wins one in April? They're both theoretically as difficult as one another and it makes more sense to have tournaments in the same circuit give out the same points.

That's terrible. Blizzcon is the end of year tournament. Not the who has won the most last month tournament. That's like if they would give double points in the last race in Formula 1. Oh wait -_-

Innovation wasn't the only one to qualify early. Qualifying early to Blizzcon just means you won enough tournaments in the top 4, and those that won the first WCS/GSL. Winning either first or second WCS/GSL is nearly guaranteed entry.
Your system would be difficult to balance. You can't predict what would happen by adjusting WCS points according to date played. Is 2% too much? Even 1% might be a bit too much.
And what about players that are dominating the tournaments? Would this adjustment just make them further ahead? Could there be a chance that six progamers consistently make it to Blizzcon year after year?
What you suggest would be complex to predict, and cannot be implemented.

While we're on the subject, why can Baltimore secure a playoff berth within a week? There are still 20 games to go in the season! They should make September games count as single-game doubleheaders, so teams don't get to be safe too early on.

I haven't seen Happy's TvP recently, but MC looked really strong PvT vs Flash so feel good about his chances here :C EDIT: Lol somehow read bracket as MC vs Happy for game 1.

Theoretically he's the second best play in the group but he hasn't looked great in his other WCS Premier groups.

I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be to play against MC You kind of have to prepare for a lot of crazy stuff that he might throw at you. Then again, if you prepare for all that stuff he just kills you with a sharp timing because you wasted to many ressources
I feel like MC is much better with the blink stalker style or Stargate than with the Soul Train. I've noticed that a lot of his losses in PvZ come from failed sentry immortal all ins. This one worked out okay, but it could have gone very badly after the prism was sniped.

It seems like a good way to play against someone who chooses to play in the dark by not using Reaper FE.

These games are incredibly lackluster.
BETTER MAKE A JUDGEMENT ABOUT THE ENTIRE WCS EU BASED ON THIS SERIES
Grubby and Happy are two established European names though, they've been around for a while. You'd think they might show something better than this. It's not as if one of 'em had a bad day or something; they're both showing mediocre play.

There were multiple GSL Ro32 games which were equally 'bad'. It means nothing

I watched most of the GSL Code S matches from this season and the last one. Sometimes a player makes a mistake and straight up loses. This isn't what happened here at all. This was not a bop.
These matches are much worse than anything you see in Code S and probably Code A as well.
E: well that series anyway. I'm going to see if the next series is better

It's the way Grubby is approaching it though. He knows Happy is super defensive and lategame oriented, so he goes for very aggressive all in builds, which play out like that. Simple.

It was just Grubby's approach to the series, it was smart. Only thing that went wrong was his g2 he thought Happy would open as he did in g3. They are both very good players, everyone should know.

That pylon spot is so bs. Been playing random on NA server recently (fun builds with z/t, learning p) and I got owned twice in a row by Tails, abusing that spot both games.
First time, I just couldn't figure out how his zealots got into my natural. Saw it during the second game, but it was too late already

Well, yeah, after he spotted the Gateways in the corner of the main, the lack of in-base tech and the lack of an expo, of course he scouted for proxies.

Ok, lack of reaper opening is what I meant. A lot harder to scout without it.
Happy is doing a great job at scouting. But it's not possible to know what the protoss has proxied, so you have to make an educated guess if it's blink, DTs, void rays or immortals.

Sick edit bro, bet Kaelaris would love if they casted the games with a 3 hour delay instead of a 3 min and he'd gladly edit the games to call everything correctly.

Are you trying to say something to me? I legit thought Happy was going to win

I think so but I don't have the volume on so I can't hear the sweet voice of Apollo/Kaelaris telling me whether or not this is true
Same, I have to keep it muted here. But he is definitely missing it still. His colossi are getting trashed in every engagement, this is a huge blunder. C'mon Grubby, I wanted you to win...
Nuke harass is pretty cool (and embarrassing to Grubby) but I wish Happy would send a few bio units to the top right and mid left bases, because Grubby isn't moving out at all lol.

Well that's a little tougher to realize. I expect my marines to get annihilated by banelings regardless

I don't know... I was taking good fight, with equal upgrade and i was not understanding why i was losing those fights... Should be easy to realize but sometime you're too focused to see obvious things!

44 minutes in and he's still building range-less colossi. He's not going to realize until after the game. What a shame.

Honeslty you have to understand how devastated Grubby must feel. He obviously prepared those matches pretty well and would have made a good ro8 contender. So sad.
