Way off topic but Hangzhou is an awesome city. I used to walk past this stadium every day while studying at Zhejiang University nearby. It's a very pretty area, especially the lake. Good people, good food. There are lots of xpats living in the city center; they even have an Irish pub. If only air travel were 10 times faster and cheaper.

I hope the sound/mic issue is going to be fixed for the upcoming days, all the tiny missing bits and peaces of what you were saying were driving me insane a little bit. Especially in the Snute vs Has matches. Nice Tournament though and thanks for all the effort!
How is it possible for a tournament with such a small player pool, lopsided race ratio and have such a big prize pool even be successful ? 24k-25k for first place just seems like a death sentence for success in a tournament like this

Incredibly underwhelming play from the Chinese this tournament. Did the worst they possibly could, and it's not even like the non-Chinese players in this tournament are the best in the business...

Puck was 3 stalkers up, and a lot of Top's were low health. Plus Top had no MC core, and no high ground vision.
Puck makes an arc at ramp, sends on stalker back to hit buildings, and Top can't stop him. He moves up ramp into arc against more stalkers, and loses. Even if they trade evenly, Puck can just send his MCore across map and keep Top from mining.
He had it won right there, but I think he didn't want to risk it.

Kespa pulled out under the belief that their players may not have been paid. Though they generally never trust first time tournaments. And it's not like we'd even know if they paid or not since most tournaments take months to pay out prize money.

LiquidDota always seems to have the Chinese Streams in the Side-Bar. Why doesn't Liquid.net do the same. Numbers should be good, right? Could have a positive effect.

I don't see the chinese streams on liquiddota beyond the player streams. But if you want them to do it I think you need to put it in the feedback thread? Dont know where that is though.

I think it's a good idea to keep in mind that China is in the middle of a massive bubble, so these e-Sports tournaments with seemingly way too big of prizes is just one of the results. Granted, I doubt the players care. They're getting paid.

Not only is Hero's micro off, but his macro slipped so much. Also deciding to go for pure stalkers against pure hydra. Don't understand Hero's decision making. Seems like he is just getting old and his skill has naturally fallen off. Pretty sad :/
Not sure why Hero decided to attend this tournament. Wouldn't devoting more time to practice be a better usage of his time? The tournament doesn't even offer WCS points. This is more like a vacation for Hero. I wish he stayed home and devoted his time to more training.

What a huge throw from hero. More like a choke. He was hugely ahead and then he decides to be cocky by donating two nexuses to roaches for free. If he never lost those nexuses he would have won. But he probably thought he won so he let the nexuses die. Hero is becoming a huge disappointment.

HerO did some high level multi-pronged harassment at times and JD defended that quite well. But this game felt a lot like they were refusing to actually win. Both at times.

Watching Hero play use to be so fun and exhilarating. Now, it's so sloppy and sad. His play has been so sub par lately. Just look at snute. You can see improvement. Hero seems like he hasn't practiced for months. I hope he hasn't gotten complacent.

For me, I handled losses much worse in the later stages (as well as the very early) of my career because I was so frustrated overall.
I think losses are easier to deal with when you feel like you are playing well.

Even though it was a tournament not as stacked as IEM (though, wonderhing how they have more price money), glad to see JD reaching a finals again, and also glad to see, Snute doing well after the unfortunate knock out vs Flash after a 2-0 lead (though, TBH I was cheering for Flash)

It's chinese RMB indeed. You can't take more than 20000,- RMB out of China, I think most players ended up letting the organizers keep it for bank transfers later on.
A funny thing about living in China, the largest denomination is only 100RMB, which is only about 10 euro or 16 USD. As a cash focused society, not too many places take credit or debit cards either except for like department stores, so it makes paying for expensive stuff interesting when you have to carry around stacks of 100s Fortunately, big Chinese banks and big American banks have partnerships setup so deposits and withdrawals were free for me.
