PartinG gets blind all-in four times and gets knocked out without winning a match, eliminating him from Blizzcon.
He walks out of the booth crying.
Suddenly, a beach ball going 40mph slams into his face, kicked by FlaSh from the audience. He gets mobbed by fan girls, PartinG falls into a depression coma, all war in the world ceases, cancer is cured.

Also soO gives him a wedgie, while Soulkey deals out a wet willy since neither of them will get to knock him out this season. A post-HotS first.
Seriously, though. When will those two stop bullying him xD? Every single season he dies to one of them..

This is probably the absolute hardest group to call, I can see any combination of players coming out of this one. I'm a Jinair fan so I'm cheering for True, and having TY advance would be cool.

So.. this is in 4 hours... starcraft all nighter? I'm not gonna be able to watch WCS tomorrow (stupid real world shit) and I need to get my fix somehow.
This is really a sick group, I hope for TY and Parting to advance but I do think any one of them could go trough. Dear is probably the underdog looking at recent results but wouldn't surprise me if he won anyway.
Parting and Dear, just because then we a chance to repeat a Dear vs Maru!!! I hope that game would be on the same level(by going to RO16 I predict a significant confidence boost to Dear)... Woooo!

i don't know, but it was pretty sick with Sylvanas and reckless trading in general. dude is in legendary and i'm rank 1 so i'm not sure it's only the shininess though. he also ran echoing ooze but he just popped it down without any buffs so i guess i didn't see its full potential. needless to say if you can't remove Kel Thuzad immediately he just destroys Warrior.

Well, Ooze makes sense with the mass buff cards Druid has available. But I'm not seeing a lot of good interaction with Druid minions and Kel'Thuzad. But hey, if it beats Warrior, I might as well test it out. I could use a good response to Warrior in tournaments with my current budget.

I wasn't (and never will be) a BW fan. Sorry.
it's ok, I was just goofing around, no need to apologise
Wait wait wait, its official now?
I was busy for most of last week, but I thought till now it was only a rumor because he changed his twitter....
nononononono a SKT without my favorite player of all time Bisu already is hell on earth but to see them loose one of my favorite Terrans tooo....
Holy shit >.<
Well atleast they still have Rain, hes my favorite SC2 toss, sooooo thats something >.<
well there hasn't been any news from SKTT1 directly...or I missed it. But changing his twitter is huge!
I kno ikno, but I dont want accept it just yet, I still want to believe for aslong as possible.
Seeing the team that I loved most in BW (while there were other teams that were close I admit) beeing basically dismantled b4 my eyes, kinda hurts a lot :/
Now there is only Rain left, don't get me wrong, I love Rain he is like one of the Protosses that I want to be like, however its just not enough
I recently read an Article here saying that the team has surpassed its players, has become greater than its players, that people will cheer for the team, only for the teams sake even which is something most teams fail to do.... however it just doesn't work that way for me.
I think TRUE burrows when he doesn't think he can do any more damage with the attack and doesn't have the room to get away. He just drops them underground to save them for later.

Leenock's version is better (faster upgrades, muta transiont, worse creep though) and he was able to trade pretty even with Inno and beat Taeja. So if you're obsessively focused on it, then yes.

I think you just give them tooo much room for dropping and cant threaten with mutas, sooo Terran has basically a free card to do whatever they want, strong Terrans that are prepared for it will abuse it and not loose as many SCV's and then will win.

TRUEs creepspread kept him alive for the past 5 minutes. If he didn't have creep to the 4th of TY, TY could have pushed and killed him. I love TRUEs super aggressive, low-eco games. Who needs 5 bases if you can just build banelings :D

True's muta/ling/bane is fucking sick good, incredible mechanics and control. That was an excellent ZvT from him, maybe the best zerg play I've seen since the patch.

I think he should be pushing harder instead of always having half his army in medivacs. If he would push, he would limit the creepspread and then he wouldn't have fight on creep against speed banes all the time later on.

Truly a baneling.
Funny thing is that when July was asked how he was playing so well after he switched to SC2, that was actually what he said. He imagines he is the ling or bane killing the Terran and thats why he wins.

I saw it, it was really cool also, but it relied a lot on trickery and a little luck and inattention from Inno with the bane mines. True just straight up outplayed TY here.

I'd argue Innovation played a better composition than TY did here* Not to mention Leenock started off by losing his nat to a 11/11.

I think he should be pushing harder instead of always having half his army in medivacs. If he would push, he would limit the creepspread and then he wouldn't have fight on creep against speed banes all the time later on.
I dunno, shouldn't it be much easier to hold off parade pushes when not going for mutas?
Not really, because then the Terran can always pick up and go home, completely dictating the flow. And then, once you have limited the creep spread, you can still go into drops. But I think since TRUE went so queen heavy and Ty so dropheavy, it just became very hard to move out for Ty later on. He always had to stop right outside of his 4th area to clean up creep and would then sit with his army on hold for a minute or so.

Possible, I actually don't know what the optimal terran comp is post patch, specifically thor to mine ratio.

Well, a caster should tell interesting stories about players to make people like them. Mouz shat on Dear and I think a lot of people would want him to do better because of that.

It's better at bowling some nerd over, massive counter attacks that allow you to also defend at the same, burrow mine trickery, and forcing your way into taking the initiative in the game and faster upgrades.

Well, playing with mutas is just better than without. Also in g2, True played with mutas. Just not the 30+ mutalisk stuff or the muta before upgrades, but rather the 15mutas but focus on upgrades, creep, baneling speed etc first.
And pure ling/bling is better at beating allinish plays or pushing yourself.

I was struck by how few mutas he lost too. By the first attack against the fourth, he had only lost four mutas, despite using them to shut down drops the whole game. That's remarkably low, his muta micro and general awareness were just outstanding. It let him save so much gas for upgrades and banes rather than replacing mutas. It's like JD in reverse.

I thought that was smart play by Dear. He took advantage of Parting's scouting style and got a freewin for it. There's 4spawn maps and there's randomness, sure, but there's also taking advantage of what little you know.

i'm so happy for dear that he seems to finally get rid off the extremely negative influence that mouz had over him. hopefully he gets out of this group.
On August 20 2014 19:25 Die4Ever wrote: nooooo why is Dear beating Parting??? lame
He's the better player, which is why it was so hard to see him have that dip while at mouz shortly after Soul disbanded. But the Dear we saw win GSL, WCS Season 3 finals and then put up a good performance at BlizzCon was a world beater.
Interesting. This is the first I have seen ads on any stream in ages. Is GOM actually playing ads inline with the stream? I like this way a lot better than the game interruptions for ads. This is also the first time I have seen GOM in a long time. Has this been going on for a long time?

PL has been doing this for a while now. GOM also did it but to a lesser degree. Pretty awesome though, and much less intrusive than twitch ads!

Idk, comparing Dear at his peak with Parting right now is kinda weird, and if you talk about parting at his peak in 2012 he was doing amazingly too.
I'm not much of a Parting fan, however I don't think you can clearly say who is the better player overall, Parting has been waaay more consistent (however he didn't get fucked over by his team like Dear did).
What you can say is that RIGHT NOW Dear is playing the better StarCraft of the two, however I wouldn't judge a player by short term performance.

Dears peak was higher than Partings
Parting was still more consistent tho.
And parting won WCS Finals, got second at WCS Asia, got third at WCS Korea got second at the GSL Blizzard cup and had some other high placings, which I kno still is not as high of a peak as Dear, however he has been far more consistent as I just said.
And I kno Dear had a shitty enviroment but still its the case.
Im just saying you can't say that Dear is like 2 worlds above Parting in terms of skill (eventhough I really dislike Partings playstyle).

If there's no detection, they can win a lost game. If there is, they kill two zerglings and run away and become archons, like we saw. They are very binary, but Dear didn't really have a choice. I think his position was far worse than Artosis let on, his nat was still building when True's third was already done.

You called someone a monster for wanting PartinG eliminate TY. But I think we are missing eachothers points here, lets just stop the discussion for now.

If there's no detection, they can win a lost game. If there is, they kill two zerglings and run away and become archons, like we saw. They are very binary, but Dear didn't really have a choice. I think his position was far worse than Artosis let on, his nat was still building when True's third was already done.
There are some games where the P just does a huge comeback because the Z was silly enough to not build spores (like 25 drone kills) Cant remember any specific games now though ._.
Wow Dear hitting in the only window when he stood a chance ! Nice ! (and yeah, horrible overextension with the roaches before. I'm pretty sure he'll bring any advantage back home in game 3 though if he comes out ahead again, he's too clever to get this cocky again)

True just made the cardinal mistake; attacking. There is no reason to, he had 2-2 and ultras/infestors on the way, if he just keeps his roaches and sits at home, he wins. Instead he throws away 40 supply attacking forcefields and sim city.

dear pylon blocked the ramp of TRUE with 3 pylons, but his probe died before it could place the canon, meanwhile he was attacking TRUE s hatch in his (Dear's) natural! then 2 zealots cancelled the 3rd of TRUE with amazing micro
edit: TRUE had proxy hatched Dear. And during the zealot harass, Dear placed hs own 3rd
Ok, True needs to NOT try and get massive damage done with the mutas now, Dear has solid defense, but no map control. He should be expanding everywhere and massing static def.

TRUE placed his expad and forced Dear's attack to recall. He killed several sentries in the process. Meanwhile he attacked Dear's third but couldnt kill it (but forced the recall)
ling/raoch/mutas attacking the third. Stalkers canon defense at the third killed all the probes but too many stalkers so he goes to the main. meanwhile dear attacked the 4th but couldnt kill it

they need to have a rematch .. maybe won't just be a bloodbath of workers lol
It will, in honor of their fallen comrades in the last view games, both TRUE and Fantasy start mixing in workers in their regular army, letting them fight for honor, starting a complete new meta called the "worker WarM" (M Stands for minerals >.< )
Now I'm kinda concerned for Dear, even with how good he's playing just because of his weak (from what I've seen) PvT. If TY beats PartinG, I'm gonna have to accept the loss of my nails.
Dear playing so well though that I won't be that sad if he doesn't make it out. Just seeing him so good again makes me happy enough to last me to next proleague season :D

In my defense, I will say engaging with the initial mutas against blink stalkers and cannons is usually very risky. Typically, poking and expanding behind it until you get the 20+ cloud, making sure toss stays at home on three bases is a better strat. True just made so many mutas at once, I didn't pick up on it. Also Dear had almost no units at the third.

Parting tries that unit comp every game vs KT-terrans and gets wrecked again and again and again. Nobody gave him the memo that if it is broken, he should fix it?
I've literally been in the woods for a month - what would you fine folks say the state of professional PvT is at the moment? When I left, it was still considered fairly Protoss favored.
Man I really hope Baby makes it through, Im also wondering when was the last time we had both Flash and Baby in the RO16 of a major tournament? probably all the way back in BW

Pretty even honestly, the better player usually prevails since there are no more "kinda broken" openings like blink was on some maps with the previous (overpowered) timewarp.

Its about Protoss cutting enough corners to survive the SCV-pull. In other words, make enough units to survive speed medivacs, but not to many since you need to tech storm/colossus. Then Terran pulls the boys That is 50% of your games atleast.

No. No you cannot. Don't spread misinformation. It's pretty much impossible to deal with Mine/Bio with Chargelot/Templar.

What you can do is play like MC and open Blink 3G Pressure into Immortal/Stalker/Templar, but that's completely different to a straight up Chargelot/Templar opening.
Ah of course, but that's what I meant. You can't rely on chargelots any more, true, you need some ranged damage, but you can still choose templars as AOE instead of colossi and do pretty fine.

it's legit, it's not trash. overrated, maybe, trash is going too far lol
Its Medieval Spider-Man vs Zombie Giants. I won't call it the greatest of all time, but its pretty easy fun.
In the manga later on it gets really fucked up and mind fucky, and there are sooo many hints you can read into earlier on, even in the anime.
But yea Its not even on my top 3 or top 5 anime list :D
Still pretty enjoyable and the manga is better than the anime in this case I would say
shingeki no kyojin was pretty fun
i mean my gay friend who doesn't watch anime loved it so that should tell you something
it's overrated though
Yea, but a lot of stuff is overrated, I just don't buy into that soo I can enjoy it more :D
But there is mre overrated stuff, Sword Art Online for example, started out pretty good, got mediocre and then went straight down into the hell where the all the Death Note episodes after 25 are still burning!
Favorite Anime for me still is Gintama, and noone hypes that shit :D

Too bad Blizz killed it
You can still open templars, even against 5 rax mine, it's just far more difficult to do than colossi openings.

excuse me if that's a silly question because i've only seen the first episode but what does being gay have to do with anything?
Nothing I would assume, the main thing about his friend was that he doesn't watch anime, but I guess he did throw that in to give us more context to that friend!

Parting was exremly far ahead, like I wrote. "TY is so dead". Two minutes later he GGs. It was not even close to close. Just Tasteless and Artosis hyping the game.
Poor TY but its hard to feel sad when he played the boring SCV pull style. Its strange how he seems so harassment heavy and has a lot of creative builds in TvZ but just goes for the same old scv pull in TvP.
I do hope Parting goes trough now so he can cause some chaos in the group selection!

Parting setup for this build from g1. He used the same "opener" but instead of robo + forges, he went robo + dts. They both fumbled about in the mid game, but TY did a hail mary by committing to that massive drop when all base trades would have favored Parting (cause of DTS, Hail Inca), but did it anyway. It wasn't pure 100% methodical, but it was intelligent, thought out and decisive.

Also he's gone warp prism but just for zealots off that same exact opener in PL a bunch of times.

The only thing I fear for Dear is booth pressure. He's not been on a GSL stage for some time now and will play his life against someone who's not used to leaving in ro32. On pure skill, he looked better than PartinG today.

Leenock's version is better (faster upgrades, muta transiont, worse creep though) and he was able to trade pretty even with Inno and beat Taeja. So if you're obsessively focused on it, then yes.
Ok and where is Leenock now? Oh right code B... True is better yo

Unless you're toss!
Soul train relies on Forcefields. Dark Templar can become Archons. Archons crush Forcefields. No soul confirmed.

TRUE is better, not cause hes in Code S and Leenock is Code B (Though thats part of it), but for a lot of different reasons too numerous to name. I still like how Leenock played Inno more than how TRUE played TY.

Dear really on point today. I guess he could (should ?) have finished the game with his 2 immortals push, but this was a really good game as far as decision making goes.

do you even ZvZ, banes/lings vs banes/lings?
Yeah and it happens only for short while and still not as good, PvP is micro dependant from start to finnish heavily.
it depends on each player's stye. P has less units (more expensive) so of course in PvP you babysit them more one by one, but ZvZ is very dependant on position (and you can argue this is also micro) esp in bane vs bane scenario (now roach vs roach 200/200 isnt that impressive, I give it to you).
TvT bio vs mech is also very challenging.
I find PvP enjoyable, but calling it the best micro in the game is pushing it a little. I would say it has more micro potential. Anyways, go Parting!

I'm so sad for Dear, not only because he's one of my favorite players, but because he deserved that spot. So sad. GG PartinG but you'll have to show something different in ro16 if you want to stand a chance.

Dear will be back. He can find his lost mojo now that he is on a Kespa team again. It was really bad luck for him that STX SouL disbanded when it did. He didn't seem to flurish on a European team.

Now if Flash makes it out tomorrow (which is very likely since there are two of them in that group) we have a very nice GSL season again with all the races represented by the best. yay

Even if Flash doesn't advance tomorrow the worst we'll have is a 7 Z - 5 P - 4 T distribution which is already quite nice. But I must say I'll be disappointed if Flash doesn't advance, he looked ridiculously good recently and I think he wants to make a point in this GSL.
Really sad that Dear didn't make it today I think he is generally more talented and has more potential then PartinG. Never really saw PartinG as a top caliber player.

Parting has been in at least RO16 of every GSL since 2013, 4 of them RO8, is a Nestea award winner, plus a Global tournament runner up, RO4 at a huge number of premier tounaments, I don't know why these result won't qualify him as a top caliber player.

I don't know for sure, it might be mostly due his gimmicky strats, I always saw that as his main strenght. Probably also because he barely ever took out one of the top players in Bo5 or more or atleast in last 2 years, exception being his run in the global tourney, especially series against Zest.

I feel like once someone figures out TRUEs game, he's going to get crushed. That or the meta will shift. I feel like Zest probably spent a good deal of time looking into how to beat his queen/ultra style after getting stomped last season. That said I can not figure out how he beat TY with ling bane. I think TY had terrible splits but I'll have to rewatch to see if that was the case.
I'm not sure you can be too hard on Dear after losing to TRUE, who destroyed the group and went 3-2 v Parting - who is a PvP master. If Parting lost the last game the conversation would have changed.

TRUE seems to be a master of adaptation and I wouldn't be surprised to see him still one step ahead of his future opponents' preparation. His play isn't only gimmicks but intelligent play combined with very good micro and impressive decision making. We'll see but I have high expectations for him, semifinals at least. As a matter of fact all JinAir (Cure, TRUE, sOs, Maru) players looked extremely good so far, I'm excited to see Avenge tomorrow.
For Dear, I wasn't hard on him at all, on the contrary, he nearly got out of this extremely hard group while looking dominant against PartinG three games in a row. It's no small feat. He's on his way to finding his outstanding shape of end 2013 again.
