The reason why you were the only one to vote for Apoc is because none of us expected Innovation to give zero shits about this series and purposely throw most of these games. It's incredibly lackluster to see most of these games decided by the five minute mark.
I hope Apoc just plays standard again and lets Innovation kill himself another time with these stupid builds of his. I was hoping for Innov vs. HuK, but Innov is playing stupidly so I'd much rather see an interesting finals, hopefully an epic Apoc vs. HuK.

I really don't get why people went berserk about those proxy games, stating Bogus shouldn't be invited in the future or something. You're not entitled to 5 stars games every time. Bogus promised you nothing about an epic TvT series. He didn't gg upon seeing a Bunker in the Catallena game (while he could have if he really didn't care at all). I can't help but think that Minigun is the worst caster of this tournament so far. A pity he's been left for the finals. There's no real chemistry between him and Destiny and Minigun just keeps being silent / saying useless things most of the time (which is surprising, given he's a very good player), at least in my opinion.
A very fun tournament nontheless, I'll certainly tune in for the next one

I choose Minigun casting for the finals because he has a ton of game knowledge and these last games are all being played by high level players. Minigun's brought insight to both the TvT and ZvP that other casters wouldn't have been able, including me. I also get along well with him and we can banter.
I understand he might not have as many fans, but after the games we've casted so far I feel good about my decision to cast him for the finals.

HuK was floating a ton of gas though... and with his dark shrine he could have made archons cheaper (gas-wise) than with his (two) templar archives. He just didn't tech switch well enough imo... no archons or tempests and a little too much dead weight with units like sentries in the late game.
I've liked Minigun's casting so far. There is that friendly chemistry with Destiny and he adds good game knowledge. Its nice to switch it up each day too.

Inno has such an incredible unique style, it's really a pleasure to watch. I don't follow terrans that much, but he is just fantastic. Quite the INnoVator.
I really like Minigun's commentary. He's bringing a lot of knowledge to the casting, especially being able to tell us what HuK's thinking as another high-level Protoss player.
How do you see on Aligualc the previous matches between two players? I can see that Innovation and Huk have played each other 3 times, I believe one was at a recent Dreamhackbut I want to see the match history please.

Community involved ( crowd funding) + lot of advertising ( reddit, tl, twitter ) + destiny has a pretty big follower base + popular players

How was apocalypse anyway, I see he beat polt and took innovation to the final map.
Apoc played pretty solidly, but vs. Innovation, Innovation just played like someone who didn't take the series seriously, proxying nearly every game and just speeding through the series as fast as possible. Apoc didn't have nearly as much influence in the series as Innovation did, just throwing proxy openings at the wall and had half of them stick.

In any case I haven't seen any 11/11 or proxy Reaper really work consistently well against Protoss. I would severly dread any MSC or Oracle if I'd attempt it but maybe that's just me .

Have to say Destiny 1 was a success overall, damn near 22k on the english stream alone right now. almost 5k on take, nice numbers for any online tournament, fantastic even.
Well done Steven and co-caster, this was a good tournament with some memorable moments, and it hit every goal set for it. Grats.

..disagree, clearly innovation hardcountered that strategy by 2raxing 16 times and thus shortening the tournament. Big thanks to Destiny, TB and Naruto and all the casters, great effort on the tournament. I really prefer those smaller ones with good players compared to gsl/esl/wcs, which can feel sterile and formulaic at times

It's like when foreigners go to Korea to train, people suddenly expect them to beat all the koreans. Guys, take it easy, that tweet was probably unnecessary, but I read it basically as HuK explaining he wasn't in the best condition but that innovation played well anyways. Doesn't have to be so dramatic. In any case, I'm happy HuK took a game off of Innovation :D

I guess I can understand that; not that I agree with it. I don't care much for a tweet, in fact I can totally undertsand someone being frustrated about losing in the finals when he had a scrappy, yet good run. Huk did really nicely in this tournament. Innovation was just too big a wall.
I more impressed by his run (didn't expect him to get through group-stages, much less Major) than I am annoyed by his tweet.

I think huk is back to tip top shape and would be surprised if he won at least a wcs next year. He demolished the competition except for innovation today. Hell, I think he would fare well over in GSL seeing him taking a game off of innovation, who is a top 3 Terran right now, probably the best terran right now with the way he played today

i dont think i can agree with you on top 3 foreigner, just look at the people he had to play mc,violet, apoc ,kane, and major, imo not the best of players,yes good but not best lets say he was on the other side of the bracket playing life,polt apoc, or inno i dont think he would have made it out of any of those games, really just luck of the draw. i mean nice on getting to the finals but got lucky IMO.plus top 3 foreigner IMO are(in no order) bunny,snute, vortex, with scarlett 4th maybe top 3 if she ever gets healthy dont get me wrong huks good but not top 3 not anymore.
