She went through back to back to back pros including motherfucking DongRaeGu before falling to Trap. It looks like she's improving all the time. I'm happy for her. She's right on that edge of being able to win a tournament like this, I hope she doesn't lose heart over this loss. It's also just a numbers game at this point. I think Scarlett has proved over the last few weeks that she can hang with strong Koreans. But if you go into a bracket where you have to win 5-6 BoX vs good Koreans, even assuming you are every bit as good as any of the individually, odds are one of them is going to have your number some way along that path. A BO win, an unscouted all in, a really strong game from your opponent when you made some mistakes(as we just saw), all the stuff that happens when elite Koreans play each other. And when you are the only foreigner against 7+ Koreans most of them time, it's just a matter of mathematics, you won't be able to win that may games against really good players back to back unless the stars align. What we just saw was an incredibly performance. Over the last weeks she's beaten Taeja/MMA/Hyun/Ragnarok/DRG/Life/MC/Stork/Patience/Polt/Violet etc. I know people here are going to shit on her now that she lost and just generally be assholes while ignoring all she actually did, but that's just the internet. I'm happy about this result, and if you are a Scarlett fan so should you, because this is really about as much as we can hope for given the state of the game. You're totally right. Unfortunately for us, for a foreign hope to triumph, being as good as the Koreans (as Scarlett is) isn't good enough if she's the only champion we have. The numbers just don't add up. There's also a second truth though that I also realize. As good as these opponents are at this MLG, this isn't the top of the pyramid either. There's maybe only one to three players that you could argue could make a GSL Code S. Trap is one of them. The rest of these guys are Code A level. The gap between them and the guys at the very top is well....... Starcraft is tough, and the top Korean pros are just fucking good at it. Life and DRG were in code S. Trap is Code S level. Other than that yeah probably not. Leenock is kinda close.

Hell, a cloaked banshee is 1. I win. You are narrow-minded beyond repairing... I think you may be projecting a bit. I am not supporting this "4 Dark Templars won the game, Protoss imba" bullshit, but comparing 6 pool, 2 rax, or Banshee rush to the DTs in the late game... it really isn't comparable...
It's almost as if I was being snarky because of how overly simplistic his post was...he never said "4 units win in the late game", he said "win a game with four units". Not hard to understand.

For all the shit that got thrown at MLG, there have been some extremely good games in this champ bracket.

She had a great position, Trap just managed to wiggle his way out of it. It was a great game. Heartbreaking, but great. It's games like these that remind me of two things: 1. I could never become a pro-gamer 2. Why I love StarCraft Rotterdam has pretty good insight on it. He, like ToD and most of the rest of us thought Trap was dead. The fact he won that game is remarkable. Sure Scarlett made a couple mistakes, but Trap played beautifully. It's nice that I"m not the only person who's feeling inadequate over how well Trap played.
Welcome to my world whenever I watch Maru, Polt, Taeja or any of the top Terrans.

Also, is anyone else bothered by the idea that people root against a player he or she is korean? I get rooting for someone from your own country, but the fact that so many people don't even want to watch a tournament because one nationality is good at the game seems wrong to me.
yep, and the casters, without fail, will downplay the achievements of a korean player in favour of hyping the foreigner. I like when people support their favorite players for their playstyle rather than because they're from a certain country.

I need to drive out and get food. Anyone knows when the next game is so I won't miss it? I don't understand the schedule on the first page.

Whats wrong with Koreans winning? If you want non-Koreans to win (for some reason?) support those players and communities.
