Because if there's one thing we need, it's more of the same people at every tournament.

Actually what the SC2 Scene really needs IS the same people at everytournament. No one is going to go out of their way to watch illusion or petraeus but if there were players like Flash Bomber JD or Taeja then there wouldn't be such a small crowd watching sc2.

I kind of agree with you about it being too often the same koreans at every event but at least qualifiers giver more players chances to qualify. I just don't think having it be 11/12 american and european players in the group stages makes it that interesting. even 1 more korean qualifier would be great because then you have the whole foreigner vs korean thing that instantly makes it interesitng

This is true! How dare they show a match between 2 concurrent plays with minimum relevance in the SC2 2014 world vs the two ace players of their respective teams battling it out!

But we DO have a lot of the same players at the premier tournaments. We always have Taeja and Jaedong and Polt and HerO and yet the scene is not growing because of that. In fact that has very little do with the overall growth and sustainability of the Starcraft 2 scene.

If we're putting all of the eggs of competitive SC2's popularity in the basket of just a few players, we risk the scene sinking like a stone when they retire, no matter why that happens to be. Hell, Bomber's already going to the military soon, and Taeja's made it abundantly clear this year will be it for him. You're right - fewer people will go out of their way to watch Illusion or Petraeus. And that is EXACTLY why a tournament with the strong brand power of MLG needs to bring these players TO the fans, so there will be more players with more fans, which is good for everyone. EDIT: I realized that I could have worded the first part better, so I did.

Seems like they will have to play a lot of matches in a short time to "catch up" with the palyers already played like 5 matches in pool play? Tomorrow's pool games will just be the newly added players vs the current pool players

MLG has slipped a series in on day one in the past but I don't see them doing it here with this many delays

The winners from the Upper Open Bracket will be put into the pools and play their games tomorrow.

I wasn't talking about certain players I was just saying that having 4 korean qualifiers would make the pools more interesting and have higher level games. High level starcraft should make great games and make it more interesting to viewers.
