Grubby and Golden I guess, not particularly a fan of the other two. If the two play each other we'll have some very interesting PvZ.

Go grubby and mana!
Just because mana is liquid and grubby is grubby...
hmm Im rooting a lot for foreigners lately. Strange.

Everyone in this group seems pretty likable. Hard to pick who I want to see advance D:
|
|
Grubby looked really strong. I hope he can make it out of the group with Mana, but First seems to be really strong as well... Golden is the weakest in the group I would say.
|
Golden to be the next korean to fall in wcs eu. Going with Mana and First to advance.

Grubby's powerlevel doubles in important offline events. He will destroy this group.
|
Golden is like the Savior of Esports, and First is ex-IM, so... go Golden and First!
|
Grubby even brought his own water, any doubters left?
|
Not just one bottle either.

|
Gogo First and Golden/Mana!

I think the inconsistency of the broadcasts is a big factor also. Ro32 was on Tuesdays and Thursdays and twice on a Saturday. Ro16 is just 4 days in a row, and the playoffs are played in the weekend.
And this usually changes every season, and is different for every region

i'm interested in why pros don't favor armor ups for muta/corruptor, since protoss typically don't prioritize armor against zerg and corruptors with armor tank so well against phoenix. probably some reason above my head

Do you guys like the long breaks between the matches? With 10 minutes for interviews and analysis after the games, a 6 minute long commercial break and finally 9 minutes of talk before the match (I just timed it :p), I just feel it gets a big too slow paced.
And this adds up. In total this gives an almost half hour break between each match, which is an extra ~2 hours a broadcast.
Imo they could cut the analysis, most times it just serves as a recap of the game. If there was a highlight (like ForGG's widow mines vs Stephano), just show it again after the game.
Also, a lot of the talk before the games is stuff they could (and does) talk about during the opening few minutes (aka the Tastosis talks about other stuff time).
Idk, I like the production but it just feels kind of exhausting to watch an entire broadcast. Very slow paced. But maybe that's just me, what do you think?

Happy Birthday First, dropping out of WCS.
Were I in Germany I would take a page out of Tommy Boy:
Send over a bottle of bubbly with a bucket of ice and a card. Have it say, "Tough break, get drunk on me. Use the bucket to ice down your marbles, Yours, TJS."
Well I jinxed him.

hasn't got anything to do with the language... -.-
|
Northern Ireland24151 Posts
I find it's unfamiliarity with the language to a degree, although Vasa is clearly a mentalist (in a good way). Same with Korean casts, apparently they're very insightful for those who can speak Korean, but nothing smacks of SC hipsterism than those who can't speak Korean professing their preference for it

i think that not understanding the language is actually a huge perk in terms of maintaining the excitement. i have no idea if he says something stupid and i don't care. yes italian is a beautiful language, but more importantly when you don't understand the language you have nothing to appreciate except for its beauty.
besides, you shouldn't be too trusting of caster analysis anyway, so i say just don't even listen to the words.

Anyone here who speaks italian, who can tell me whether Vasa sounds way more epic than every other caster? that is not an uncommon theory. I watched a panel on science/neurology/music, and one of the things they talked about was elements of music that are built into spoken language, but you only consciously notice them when you don't understand what's being said. When you understand the language, it goes to a different part in the brain and you parse the meanings and you ignore the rhythm and pitch.

Shh, keep your knowledge and sell it to the pros, they will be so thankful that you solved the game for them.

Compared to previous Ro8 Golden, in my opinion, shouldn't be in the round of 8. He should be in the round of 8 because... well, he won Yes, obviously... But it's still disappointing, that nowadays someone like Golden manages to get in the Ro8 with such play, because his opponents screwed up.
Also so sad for Mana, being so close to beating Koreans 2:0 two times in a row, but dropping out because of crucial (&stupid) mistakes in both series.

Those stupid mistakes seem like a good reason to not be Ro8 material.

Maybe I should be a TL writer instead; I get almost no calls correct.

Still it's espicially sad seing him loose like this, cause in both of thoose games (which he lost because of one dumb mistakes) he played very solid overall, before loosing because of one bad move.

Tbf the only reason he beat First in game 1 was because he messed up.

Man something just felt real off about Grubby today. He seemed to have the right ideas in a couple of his games he lost but the execution was just super sloppy for a player of his caliber. Hopefully this doesn't deter him since I know he passed up HSC to focus on WCS.

He didn't even show a macro game, I don't know. The guy only all in and fails his execution 2 times out of 3 with the same BO, I don't call that realy solid.

Hydralisks aren't very good if the opponent is going macro. Roaches are much better in most situations.

lol wtf..."raiders". Mana and Grubby have had every opportunity to do well and they still lose to a player like Golden who has no inherent advantage over them. Europeans are to blame for the "death of WCS EU" and no one else.

One group is still to be played. Last season in top 8 were 3 european (2014 WCS Season 1 Europe) Before that 3 also (2013 WCS Season 3 Europe)
I think europeans are doing pretty good.
