I think the inconsistency of the broadcasts is a big factor also. Ro32 was on Tuesdays and Thursdays and twice on a Saturday. Ro16 is just 4 days in a row, and the playoffs are played in the weekend.
And this usually changes every season, and is different for every region

i'm interested in why pros don't favor armor ups for muta/corruptor, since protoss typically don't prioritize armor against zerg and corruptors with armor tank so well against phoenix. probably some reason above my head

There have been some sick Korean games of Muta/Corruptor, but I will agree that most people aren't that good with microing it.

I don't have a ticket for GSL so I haven't seen them. I guess its just more of a case of more often than not the control isn't where it should be to use that style?

And this adds up. In total this gives an almost half hour break between each match, which is an extra ~2 hours a broadcast.
Imo they could cut the analysis, most times it just serves as a recap of the game. If there was a highlight (like ForGG's widow mines vs Stephano), just show it again after the game.
Also, a lot of the talk before the games is stuff they could (and does) talk about during the opening few minutes (aka the Tastosis talks about other stuff time).

he needed to be building void rays instead of tempests, lack of void rays allowed the corruptor mass to push onto the colossus/tempest when grubby was just starting to stabilize on his fifth base (this was before the phoenix sac happened)

I find it's unfamiliarity with the language to a degree, although Vasa is clearly a mentalist (in a good way). Same with Korean casts, apparently they're very insightful for those who can speak Korean, but nothing smacks of SC hipsterism than those who can't speak Korean professing their preference for it

that is not an uncommon theory. I watched a panel on science/neurology/music, and one of the things they talked about was elements of music that are built into spoken language, but you only consciously notice them when you don't understand what's being said. When you understand the language, it goes to a different part in the brain and you parse the meanings and you ignore the rhythm and pitch.

Just compare the difference between 'Grande' and 'great' or 'bellissimo' and 'very beautiful'. Italian flows way better if you're shouting.

WCS is not kind to Liquid players. The only player left is Taeja right? Seems like Liquid has a problem with preparing.

Mana looked very strong, and that disappointment face.... so tough to see when you know he put everything into it. But grats to Golden, and I hope Mana and other Liquid members who have been shut down this season can rally back in some of these outside tournaments they have gotten into.

But it's still disappointing, that nowadays someone like Golden manages to get in the Ro8 with such play, because his opponents screwed up.
Also so sad for Mana, being so close to beating Koreans 2:0 two times in a row, but dropping out because of crucial (&stupid) mistakes in both series.

Of course Manas mistakes are a good reason for him to not be in the Ro8 and as we know he isn't. Still it's espicially sad seing him loose like this, cause in both of thoose games (which he lost because of one dumb mistakes) he played very solid overall, before loosing because of one bad move.

Man something just felt real off about Grubby today. He seemed to have the right ideas in a couple of his games he lost but the execution was just super sloppy for a player of his caliber. Hopefully this doesn't deter him since I know he passed up HSC to focus on WCS.

He didn't even show a macro game, I don't know. The guy only all in and fails his execution 2 times out of 3 with the same BO, I don't call that realy solid.

Hydralisks aren't very good if the opponent is going macro. Roaches are much better in most situations.

Last season in top 8 were 3 european (2014 WCS Season 1 Europe)
Before that 3 also (2013 WCS Season 3 Europe)
