ok, I guess I am wondering why he chose 3 CC build when he's sort of known for his micro with strong macro.

Just do a timing, then take a third while poking. So much safer and does not put you far behind.

Because timings only work if they're unscouted (in which case Zerg often overdrones and/or has bane nest too late). If Zerg scouts it and prepares accordingly, he gets a winning game because advantages snowball so fast with the larva mechanic.

what you are saying is essentially the same for roach timing that soO did.
it only works if it is unscouted which is often when terran doesn't build more bunkers or marauders or tanks
If maru scouts and prepares accordingly, he gets a winning game because advantages snowball so fast with *whatever macro mechanics you want to blame it to be*

Not at all, because Zerg can instantly saturate his third while containing Terran on 2 bases... See HyuN vs jjakji on Frost for example.

when zerg wasted tonnes of gas early on and late 3rd and no baneling nest and less lair unit due to roach investment and zerg is still not behind because they can instantly saturated the third. you serious?

That's like saying failiing a mass bfhellion timing into mech doesn't make the terran behind.
the game isn't won by having more workers.

if you are so into giving me one game example, do you want me to throw you a tefel vs mvp game as well? lol
scarlett defended a proxy 2 rax with a 3 hatch before pool
supernova proxy 2 raxed crank proxy oracle
ty defended blink all in with a senor turret
etc

makes me wonder when would you ever consider a zerg is behind. losing a hatch?

Why don't you just watch the game I mentioned and see by yourself? I talked about this game because this is what happens as a standard in that kind of scenario, not because the Terran side messed up.

people really consider this a GSL? This tournament has been an epitome of underwhelming.

If soO wins against Zest, his ZvP will be invincible - Parting/San will just run away screaming.

well it would be nice if we finally see non-toss tournament wins. According to protoss players (not only Rain) the patch has been too much and now terrans are OP...

its not like that didn't happen several times(Stephano, Naniwa), but I am still waiting for the next foreigner Terran to win something. Last I remember was Thorzain. And that's been a while...

I'd consider soO the favorite given that he came so close to beating Zest in the GSL finals and the maps are a lot better this time.

You forget the most important part though, Zest doesn't lose vs SKTT1
