Yeah I agree he was unlucky that he got that army caught when trying to sneak in the base. If that had worked it might have been a different game.

VortiX has had the best results out of all foreigners bar NaNiwa for some time now. He plays really solid in both ZvP and ZvT. It's mostly ZvZ that screws him in tournament runs.

Pretty much the same in football (see World and Euro Cup), nobody likes to play 3rd/4th -> thats why this game has the most goals (mostly).

1st off, he said he doesn't give a shit about the money, he just feels that third place matches in general are bad. You may or may not agree with this, either way it's irrelevant, just as irrelevant as the money is to him.
2nd off, the reason why your post is lol-worthy, is because you're misdirecting your whining at MajOr instead of the admins. It was the admins' decision whether to allow for a 3rd place match to be played as a Bo3, try to convince MajOr to play it as a Bo5, or have it not played at all and give StarDust the default win. And since they are the ones who made the decision, it is them you should complain to. I believe it does the opposite. It decreases the hype, that's why most of the time there are less people who watch the third place match than the semifinals. It's ok for the World Cup because it allows teams to field players who didn't play much during the tournament but in SC2 when it's played right after the player is eliminated, I don't find it interesting.

I have not thought about the applauses but Vasa usually plays an applause track after a game. Don't know if he has in this event though.

I have not thought about the applauses but Vasa usually plays an applause track after a game. Don't know if he has in this event though.

Like I wrote earlier in thread, I think these kinds of thoughts should be brought up with the tournament organizer as you get invited/event gets announced. I think (or hope, heh) most organizers listens to the players and plan accordingly.
Obviously I have no idea if you did or not, just a thought for the future.

If there was no 3rd place match, it would be guaranteed $150 instead of a chance of $300. The expected value is the same (or slightly better/worse, depending who you face ofc).

I do certanly see your point, even though I want to keep 3d place matches, but why not clear this with the tournament organizers in advance? Not very nice to put them on the spot.

That baneling coming back to destroy the Supply Depot was pretty cute. Also the Hellion was pretty lucky to get stuck into that position, didn't really help that much tho.

Ah I'm afraid I didn't follow that, I've kinda been AFK-ing in Nathanias' stream and multitasking other things. I don't really know what to say to that, not even if it would (hypothetically) be a good or bad thing. :s

It's cool how it showcased how the best defence against mutas can be to just stay aggressive. Vortix taking out that 4th base with his muta ball left a hole in his defence which jjakji abused.

Except for losing his hellions/reapers, jjakji has taken no damage. I'd say he's quite far ahead in this game. Only thing is that armory is a bit delayed.

Yeah that's what I mean by throw. Jjakji let himself get flanked and it cost him the game. 3/3 bio mine vs muta ling bane at those supply? I take terran to win that every time.
There's a reason why muta ling bane is on a clock until 3/3 bio is done. Unless the zerg has an overwhelming number of muta/ling/bane, 3/3 bio will beat it every time. It's why life kept losing to taeja at iem. Stayed on muta ling bane for too long before he tried to get ultras or infestors.

Wouldn't call it a Vortix throw either... he couldn't really push his advantage when the supply difference was at its greatest due to Jjakji's defensive position. Maybe he was a bit too slow to punish the tucked away fourth, but I still think it was the right decision to tech to hive and try to get some heavy hitting units to finish the game with.
Vortix seems to be in good shape. And Vortix - MMA rematch on tuesday in WCS! I hope he didnt reveal too much and that he can go to the Ro8. In the end WCS is more important!

On the one hand Vortix only has to practice one matchup, on the other hand the terrans have a lot of Vortix ZvT to study.
It is hard to choose between Nathanias, TakeTV and Vasa but man...Vasa impresses me every time :D The last game was awesome and a nice finish of good tourney. Congratz to Vortix, I hope he dominates in his WCS group aswell .)
The whole Day 2 matches are on this long video. The MMA Vortix match starts around 36 minutes. The finals start at around 7:07. The whole tournament is cast in Italian but it's in good quality.
thanks to vasa for doing this, italy has a really small community (like 200 active players or so) and near to nothing experience\organization even internet bandwith for this kind of events, but vasa's and his crew passion overwhelmed all the problems with the result of this awesome tournament. this guy is putting a lot, a lot, of effort in sc2, we all need to be thankfull.
