I agree on that part. I think you should talk to the organizer as the event gets announced/you get invited instead of conceding third place match if the situation arises. If you did, nvm this ofc.
Good luck vs Stardust, you played really well vs jjakji! ♥

Crushing Stardust and getting $300 more? Well worth it imo gl

While I can definitely see where you're coming from, wouldn't you feel better if you did play someone as good as StarDust in the 3rd place match and then beat him? ^^
It would shut up all the MajOr haters too...

I like to know how someone is still motivated to play 3rd/4th after losing a semi-final game? I agree with Major.
Pretty much the same in football (see World and Euro Cup), nobody likes to play 3rd/4th -> thats why this game has the most goals (mostly).

Very unprofessional behaviour of Major. 300$ is on the line and suddenly he is "tired"...
He should be disqualified in my opinion, but oh well...

He's playing and not SCV rushing, what the fuck more do you want?

A player not changing the tournament format because of being tired?
This was supposed to be a bo5. Major more or less blackmailed the admins to change to bo3.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
Here's what's what buddy, if you want to complain about something, complain about the admins allowing for a format-change, but don't imply that MajOr somehow has more power than them in making these decision.

That's how it usually goes for me when my opponent opens DT.
I believe in Major, comeback time!

If this was Naniwa people would go crazy. Really unprofessional behavior by Major...

Don't understand what's so "lool" about this.
It's not like he isn't getting paid for his time by 300/600$. 300$ for playing 1-2 hours is pretty decent pay I guess. And the tourney gets games/viewers, that generate this money by ads/sponsoring.
So there is a problem when a player just decreases the games being played. I don't think ESL or Dreamhack would allow this. They would laugh at the player trying to change the format only because he likes so. But whatever...

rough first game. That random scout of the rax (at least it seemed random, maybe I missed something)
|
As much as I hate to see players forfeiting their matches, I dislike third place matches very hard. It's pointless, it's a waste of time for the players who don't want to play and for the viewers who want to watch the grand finals right after the semifinals.
But that's a debate that should occur BEFORE the tournament. When you enter it, you play the rules.

But on the other hand the winner of the bronze match is happy for the third place while the finals loser is sad for the second. Then 4th and 2nd can bond over some tears.
Edit: How can it be "pointless" if the money distribution differs?

Where is still motivated to play a game after losing a semifinal? Not many I think (including me, my experience in football).

I'd disagree that it's pointless. There should be a distiction between 3rd and 4th in a large tournament. And I think it builds hype before the finals, or at the very least some people might use it as a break.
