He did some pretty good damage with it. I'm not sure how familiar you are with BW but as an example: Bisu is known for his use of dts and corsairs. Even after his opponent know his style and adapt to it(spores+hydras to defend), they will eventually suffer damage with it. In starcraft, all it takes is for you to not notice a runby, drop etc... and you can lose quite a lot of infrastructure, workers and such. I blame life losing for his mistakes and less so for the runbys even if some weren't very cost efficient.

Throwing away banelings for SCVs is the dumbest "style" you can ever have. He will never beat a decent Terran if he keeps doing that. Everyone has basically figured out that the more muta heavy compositions are x10 better than the heavy ling style. 35 Mutas is way more of a threat than 80 lings that can die in 5 seconds. And he was consistently banking like 3k gas all game he could've easily cut back on the lings and made more banelings/mutas/bases in general. I wasn't actually commenting on the banelings aspect but more so on the constant ling runbys. He's been doing it since he came onto the scene(or at least GSL and other tourneys) so I don't see why he should stop. In those games, the runbys did a lot of damage. I think Taeja needs to be given a lot of credit for minimizing the damage and if it wasn't for life detonating his banes in games 1 and 2, then this could've been his series..

I've actually watched quite a lot of broodwar, though I haven't played enough for me to feel confident giving out even a wrong understanding of the game

That said, the style of harrassing the economy of terrans in zvt doesn't work because of mules, while harassing production lines of terrans is game winning. Yes, if you were to keep emptying mineral lines it would pay off, but the style almost never pays off because outside of maybe drg there just isn't anyone with the mechanics to keep it up for enough time to pay off.

Cause he beat Dear 3-2 who made quite a few mistakes in most of his matches

I think Polt is awesome as well, but I think the debate is right there, im going 50/50 though
