Didn't see much competitive spirit from Naniwa either.

EXACTLY. If Naniwa isn't putting his heart into it, then there's no point in playing. I don't know why everyone is so angry. This is to be expected, considering he already has plans for retiring. He's giving up a chance at 100000$, how is that anything but stupid? He has no chance, why even try?
He didn't lose yet. That makes him have a chance.

I can't help but feel a pretty sour taste after this forfeit, definitely made me sad to see it go this way. I hope this doesn't end up creating more drama then it should. I hope he doesn't retire, aswell :3

bye bye naniwa, happy to hopefully never see something that disgusting on stage...

I've defended this kid for two years, ever since I was a quantic fan. Sase and Naniwa was my favorite bromance of all time.
I have no patience for anything of this kind though. Fuck Naniwa and his childish attitude, I've had enough and it's clear the rest of this community has too.

that was disgusting , i hope [A] ban him for his lack of sportmanship , you know there is a crowd (big one at that) , and you go for a risky opening like that , then you fail and blame everyone else , lame and sad , he should learn from the [A] Dota team , which said that in lan its very risky and thats why they go less for level1 rosh , the crowd can give it away in so many ways .. you shouldnt even try it.... not that im implying that polt DID know because of the yells... but whatever , in both cases i blame nani for this

@LiquidTaeJa it is your future that's kind of deep, because taeja has been giving up on games in the present that were not impossibly to win

Losing passion and considering retirement because of Swarmhosts is one thing. I get that.
This? Nothing. I don't have a shed of compassion for a dick move like that. He fucked over his fans, the tournament, the next player waiting in line who could have taken his spot and probably even himself considering he's going to regret this. Too bad.

I wouldn't care if he had forfeited form the start and gave his spot to Hasu too, but this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

What is hilarious about the tweet from Kennegit is that, even if the casters are ignoring the no practice and retire thing, IEM for sure knew. And after their long rant on the 100k winner takes all deal trying to get more eyeballs, more viewers, more interest in their show basically trying to do ANYTHING to get more eyes on it then it's so obvious they kept Naniwa cause they know that SOMETHING would happen. They should have given the spot to open bracket, but hey, that's not hype is it?

Name a sport in which the fans wouldn't crucify a player for whining like a bitch on Twitter and ragequitting the first match of the most important tournament of the year so far five minutes in.

The "RIP Naniwa" from Stardust was prety fitting btw.
