This goes for every esports contributor/pro player/notable figure, it's just how people work, most people judge based on who someone is, not what they're saying.

So yes, TB, we get it, we're random nobodies, we didn't choose to earn our lives with gaming, shame on us. Now if you could let us discuss Starcraft and players, nobodies to nobodies, that would be great. TL is a well moderated forum, that should be enough.

I see what you're saying, and I've been banned for hating on Symbol (for one week, no less), but those types of comments should not be needed to hold a discussion. The way they're laid out diminish careers which are in the greatest leagues. It's different from the typical sports banter. And weak decisions or a weaker player beating a stronger player does not equal throws. People have to understand that every game requires so many decisions and being wrong on one can cost you greatly in every game. Finding those flaws is way cooler than mindlessly flaming the players. Edit: I guess I am just defending TB's stance because we nobodies shouldn't need to word ourselves in such stupid manner.

People who pick on people who's down are rotten apples. What you wrote was fucking stupid, even if it was meant as a joke... Now of course Major's reaction was a bit over the top, but at least he called you out for spewing bile.

just because you are a caster or a pro or a "business insider" does not mean your opinion is any more valuable than anybody elses.

It's more believable, because it's more likely that you actually have experience that backs up your point. For example as a team owner you most likely know how training for such matches works.. So yeah the opinion of a business insider IS more valuable.

When your sole opinion is that plebs have no reason to argue on online forums about topics that apparently only the so-called "experts" are allowed to talk about then you have a very misguided view of the interwebs my friend. Because thats what TB was arguing. you dont need flashy credentials to make valid arguments.

Read the thread please, that question was already answered. And yes, pro players receive preferential treatment, and it's for the best. If they didn't, they would never come on boards like these. If you didn't read the forum rules, I encourage you to do so. EDIT2 : Reading my post again, it comes a really douchey. It wasn't the intention, I just wanted to make the information more visible as I asked myself the same question.

You're kidding right? I've been insta-banned a couple of times by the mods for posting "balance whine" when everyone else said the same thing at the same time too. We weren't giving the chance to settle down. Now if you could let us discuss Starcraft and players, nobodies to nobodies, that would be great. TL is a well moderated forum, that should be enough. Good to know it's entirely ok for random forum users to bully players and personalities on a daily basis but when one of them comes back and gives them a little slice of reality, that's crossing the line. I wonder why TB regularly shows his ugly face in these meaningless arguments, the very opposite of what a down to earth guy is. His e-fame must have gotten to him. And then he wonders why people give him a hard time on reddit and here... just because you are a caster or a pro or a "business insider" does not mean your opinion is any more valuable than anybody elses. Ahh yes, I'm one the only personalities who bothers to regularly interact with the community and somehow that means I am the opposite of "down to earth". I'm sure that made sense in your head in some way. And yes it does mean your opinion is more valuable. Factually and quantifiably it is more valuable. More people pay attention to it, more people are likely to take it at face value, ergo it's more valuable. Opinions only have any value if people heed them, otherwise you might as well be shouting at the TV. But hey, this is why most people who know what they are talking about don't interact with the community because they get accused of everything under the sun if they do by people who revel in their own ignorance, which would be fine if they didn't use it to attack people for no good reason.
