Well they're gonna conclude, "Hey this guy is a troll, because the only purpose of him posting this way to piss people off". I guess that's slightly better but frankly unless you have some way of being constructive or at least genuinely interesting, it's probably best just to not post at all. The funniest is that I imagine a lot of "simple" TL readers are more knowledgeable/better at SC2 than a fair lot of casters, so their opinion can't really be more worthless.
Didn't see the games, but the results are promising, not everyday that a foreigner terran beats a korean (especially when this korean is TaeJa!).

Like kids who want to say dumb shit after a game about a player, think about it for a second, would you ever consider saying what you said to that player's face? That's why Major reacted the way he did. Kids think they can hide behind the internet and spit shit because they think their opinion is worth something (hint: it's really not). Then when someone like TB calls them out on it and points that out, people get upset when in fact TB is very correct.

Point is opinions like that are worthless from the pov of a player, which he understands deeply as a team manager (he's probably seen first hand his players get upset about this stuff)

Everybody has the right to their opinion. Everybody also has the right to disregard somebody else's opinion (sometimes unfortunately). On places like here, we are going to see opinions we agree with, opinions we disagree with, shittily written opinions that are hard to comprehend, some other stuff, and trolls. It is up to the user to decide what opinions to acknowledge or disregard/ignore. Ideally, said user is able to distinguish between trollposts and opinions the user disagrees with. Usually on this forum users do a good job of that, which is why we can get such interesting discussion sometimes.
However, human emotion is a bitch sometimes. When said user is angry, disappointed, frustrated, crushed, he may not be able to distinguish between trollposts, shittily written posts which mean nothing, and posts that disagree with said user. That is how we get shitstorms (like this). It happens, it's a part of human nature.
Yeah, we are all just average users, but that is what 99% of the community is (average in this case is a not-progamer). We are more uninformed than the best players are, but that's the way all communities are to an extent. There isn't a large community out there that is just all specialists at whatever the community is for. For people who are saying that people's opinions aren't worth a damn, okay, but that basically means nobody on TL is worth listening to which makes me wonder why you are bothering being here.
Major, you played well. You got thrown in arguably the toughest group and came damn close to advancing.

Declaring that taeja threw his games to "mess" with major is not only insulting to major, but also to taeja.
Sharing your opinion on major's playstyle, decisions and overall performance is acceptable, being an ugly fuckin cunt is not and i m happy major shared his opinion of that douche.

I think it's funny that several dozens of players go through the exact same thing (people fall just a little short, and people post shit about it on TL or reddit), but no one gives it a thought until it happens to Major. You think Major's feelings are hurt? What about the million time people call other players shit, bad, throwing games? As if their 8+ hour days of training everyday doesn't mean anything. I don't have a lot of sympathy for Major in this case, he's just like the rest. And to be clear, I feel bad for players, but Major doesn't merit anything above the rest.

TB literally said that the guy's opinion about Major's level of skill was worthless because he wasn't a pro player, etc. I was just saying that just about any random SC2 player's opinion is just as valid as Total Biscuit's, consider his knowledge of the game

Yeah I too appreciate what TB does for the community but I don't think because you are just a "fan" that your opinions are worthless. I'm a fan of basketball and though I'll never get inside an NBA team/front office that doesn't make me any less knowledgeable about the sport and what I see game in game out.
