Yep. He's probably the one I'd passionately defend the most. Primarily because I pegged him to be a great Zerg even before his Iron Squid run. When he made small waves in qualifiers and against IM (this was before the reverse all-kill) he played with such variety and probably used not only nydus worms, but drops as well more than any Zerg.

How does that make it unjustified? The matches they were playing determined who was the better player in that specific version of the game at that specific time. Absolutely no reason to pretend they shouldn't have won what they won. I don't want to go down that Wol 2012 road again. But TvZ was not evenly matched in that year and a lot of zergs won games because of it. And you get to be sad that terrans lost. But you have no reason to be sad that zergs won. They put in the effort. It's not like any ladder zerg could 3-0 Mvp.
I'm not shitting on gowser. but he does not get the same respect for beating mvp in the broodfestor era of the game, as he would now.

The main ones that I can think of that suddenly became irrelevant come HotS were Slivko and Jonnyrecco. The ones that really ignited the whine such as Vortix, Nerchio, and Snute have continued to thrive.
Nerchio and Snute "existed" before the term patchzerg was even created.. not sure about Vortix though... but he fell off the grid in Hots. I dont remember the last time I saw him on any bigger tournament.

I was definitely wrong about him.
I loved his hyper-aggressive style where he continually utilized Nydus Worms. So fun to watch.
