Of course Hero made mistakes. But in this particular game, using this particular strategy against JD's particular strategy, with his units and level of micro against JD's units and level of micro, his mistakes ended up being less impactful than JD's mistakes. Now, why is that? It's because SC2 is a karking complicated game. Maps, strategies, micro, macro, meta-gaming, units, army movement, racial asymmetry, and decision making all contribute to the outcome of games--AND ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE INHERENTLY ASYMMETRICAL THEREFORE 'UNFAIR.' Yet to ascribe a victory in a game like this to only one of these factors (e.g. "herp derp Protoss," "immortals unfair," "yeonsu," etc), and then to try to use this to argue that the game as a whole is therefore 'unfair' is utterly nonsensical. These players are both amazing. They both played amazingly, making use of all of the factors I talked about. One of them won. It's an insult to both of them, to all competitive players, and to the community as a whole to try to pretend that this win is somehow illegitimate or 'undeserved' because the players played the actual game of SC2 skillfully. Which, to remind you again, is as an asymmetrical RTS game.

But who the hell can say that this series wasn't nailbiting and exciting till the end? Seriously what is wrong with you. Today we got some of the best Starcraft out there and we should all be happy that IEM hits over 80000 viewers. Please make the scene a bit more enjoyable for yourself. It was close and nail-biting until the and. It was still ugly to watch and not enjoyable at all (for me). Happy now?

I thought he played poorly. Get off your high horse, being pretentious doesn't suit you. neither does it suit you lol

Chobos might assert that JD made mistakes and threw the match but if you pulled up the replay with them and asked them to point to specific moments and say "That exact command was a mistake" and also ask them to say exactly what could have been done better, they won't actually know, or will start spilling all of their bogus perceptions which serve to retain their lower league status in the game. Best not to sweat it, but then that makes this all hypocritical of me I like telling the truth.lol. You like deluding yourself to confirm your bias.

People like their protosses to play well, have close games, and then lose in the end. If you look at the games Rain won vs Polt, you will find complaints about them as well. I would put that in perspective, it's not really about "popular" or not; usually the LR thread people are the only people who really suffer from this.

JD didn't have to do that at all. He had all the advantages. I am not sure how could you know anything about SC if you can't even point out JD's mistakes in that game.
