he was 2upgrades behind and lost all his crucial units, he wasn't ahead at all but he was free to go to a comfortable lategame situation. Then he had an awful max with a low viking count and not enough ghost (Sora was so far down in pop that he could've max on 20+ ghosts easily).
If you're behind on upgrades and have no ghost/vikings/medivacs left you're almost never ahead if the game continues at this stage.
