Haha Scarlett 4:0 Naniwa >> Nani quits SC2.

On a more serious note, if Scarlett can find the form she had over the last two months, she should win this thing.

Have a nice day!

I have no idea what the prizepool translates into in physical money, but goodluck to both :3

Actually at the moment it is ~9500 USD (preev.com) but 4 hours ago it was a bit over 10k which just demonstrates how volatile it is.

PvZ is the best matchup at the moment. I can't wait for it.

Naniwa have my two cents. I think that he is the smarter player and therefore will be better prepared for this BO7.

It should be played in a bo12 series, in wich each win gives you 1 bit coin, and if the final result is a 6-6, then you play the tie braker and you win one or more of the bitcoins of you opponent [each player decides how many to gamble, with a minimun of 1, posible 2, bit coins]

Nonetheless I am waiting and rooting for Scarlett.

Sick event! I feel Naniwa has the advantage due to the PvZ matchup, but I hope Scarlett takes it all. Can't wait!

Bitcoin at ~800$ now.

Chinese central bank caused a big drop apparently.
My guess is that, longterm, bitcoin is only gonna rise because it just makes much more sense than a physical bank, in current day and age.

It will be volatile for a few more years of course.

I think Scarlett will win for the simple fact of their styles. She likes Ling/Infestor and Nani likes Void Rays. I think her Infestors would be able to give her the edge. When you look at winrates in the matchup, Nani should win, but Scarlett doesn't play ZvP like a lot of Zergs so that can be thrown out the window for the most part.
Yes.

There are just simply not enough games here considering the prize pool. It should really be a BO9!

Well the important thing is that regardless of whether or not an event would be absolutely ruined, you'd be able to feel smug and superior to everyone who made this happen, so there's that.

Since no foreigner could win against a Korean in 2013, this is the ultimate test.

Gogogo Scarlett!! <3

So excited.

Both Scarlett and Naniwa have won against plenty of korean players. But even if they are on par with korean players the probability to win against 5-10 of them in a tournament is slim.

I'm really looking forward to this game.

True, they both have a 51% win-rate against Koreans in an offline setting this year, which is comparable to Jaedong (54%), Bomber (54%), Parting (54%), and better than DRG (49%), Stardust (48%), Ryung (46%), Alicia (46%) and Mvp (44%). JD, Bomber, Parting, Stardust and Mvp all won premier tournaments so one could argue that neither Naniwa/Scarlett winning one is a little bit of bad luck, probably due to there only being 2 of them and way, way more Koreans.

Bo7 is fine, Bo9 is only better if we assume both players will give it their all on every single map which just isn't the case. I also wonder if the Bo9 being favourable to Zerg historically has to do with HyuN at Fightclub. But I guess that Protoss is more reliant on surprising the opponent and it's harder to do that 5 times successfully than it is to do that 4 times.

I think we can agree that that situation is incredibly unlikely to occur, so no real worries about the prizepool. More so than the money, this is about bragging rights, both players have made good bank this year already.

Btw, have you by any chance found gainful employment as a circus director at any time in your career?
