Unfortunately, Polt will be unable to attend the tournament. The player who will replace him will be announced soon. More details here (French link).
A misunderstanding in the exact date of the cup makes Stardust unable to come to Marseille for the Numericable Cup. He is replaced by BabyKnight who finished second in the 4th qualifier, which Stardust had won.
Millenium and Numericable are proud to announce the Numericable M-House Cup 3 that will take place in Marseille, France, on the 21st and 22nd of December 2013 ! This edition is set up to be even more amazing than the first two N-Cups. Over the first half of December, 4 players will try to earn their spot to travel to the Millenium House. There, they will be joined by 4 invited players and will battle for a total prize pool of 7,600 €.
I like how people like to pretend as if a double elim 4 player bracket has been invented by the GSL. But all nagging aside, I am really looking forward to this event.

Nobody understood what people meant when we called it Swiss-style.

To me he's better than ToD (atm) and FireCake. I'd put him in 2nd place in a french power rank.

But I expected it since he said recently on his stream that we would stay at least 1 month in Korea.
They will invite a protoss, I hope for Squirtle since he is very appreciated by Millenium. And also, he tried to qualify, failed so far but is not registred for the next qualifier. Maybe because he doesn't need it
I hope you guys find a good replacement for polt. There are lots of good terrans at ATC this weekend maybe you can convince Taeja / Innovation / MMA to stay a little longer in Europe.

He crushes everyone in ZOTACs and ESL Cups so I see him winning this without any troubles except server He is like HyuN who also started as online king.
this qualifier gonna be really hard for non-koreans Squirtle, StarDust, BurNinG, KangHo, SSanaEE in the upper bracket and in the bottom : jjakji, TheStC, YongHwa & Stork
I am positive with Stork 1-2 vs jjakji. Stork's results were better and better with every day of qualifiers. Extremely sad for my rising star BurNinG and YongHwa
Protoss too strong :D Damned, Jjakji was a bit unlucky in the early game. Game 2 was a big missread from him but I can't really blame him since BBK build was a bit weird (didn't though he would commit after being scouted so early...).
that's cool to see that samsung players are pretty motivated to participat to many online cups and qualifs !
BBK vs Stardust in the final, at least one protoss in the millenium house (i think they will replace Polt with another protoss, maybe someone like Grubby or Mana?much easier to plan than for a korean player, and much less expensive)

Or babyknight if he doesn't get in, they almost have to since this qualifier was sooo much harder than the others and he got 2nd place here!

I don't know, Squirtle and Harstem are safe bets I think.
i'd say it would be odd to invite Squirtlle or BBK since they have participate to all of the qualifiers, if millenium wanted to invite them, they would have told them i think (since the event is not far from now) And llewellys didn't seem to have planed to receive BBK at the house when he talked about it on the stream !

They already invited everyone, but Polt had to decline, so there is 1 spot left
Unfortunately StarDust is unable to attend Numericable Cup as he'll be at the opening of the new Meltdown Paris for some showmatches with Jjakji and MaNa (looks like there has been a misunderstanding about the dates)
He's replaced by the finalist of the fourth qualifier : BabyKnight.
Source :
"Troubles of understanding about the date for StarDust who can't attend. The place is given to the Q4 runner-up BabyKnight ! For Aiur !"
Edit: it seems the Aligulac BBCode output is bugged. The order of the names should be inverted (so, Curious has 67.29% chance of being Top 2 and BabyKnight 32.50%).
Babyknight fighting!!! But he has his natural put down after his opponent startes his third hatch, won't this game progress into an auto-loss if he tries to take it to the midgame?
I know that I am watching a French stream but it would be nice if all this sweet pre-talk and other bonus stuff could be available in English too and not only the casting of the games. It's like being denied most of what makes the event special, you know. I am aware that Llewellys doesn't like to but he proved that he could the last time. ;p

Should have let Stephano be the host. Everyone wins. Regardless its a problem about the french scene i feel, it is very active it actually has the money and structures to do things but the language thingy is a huge burden. Even iron squid had trouble dealing with it i felt ( By that i mean providing the non-game content to everyone )
That's maybe why Paris doesn't have a dreamhack. Which is too bad because it would be packed and people would be howling like you never seen before.

Well, it's more about their sponsor than about Millenium themselves I think. Numericable offers services only in France/Luxembourg and Portugal. So any international viewer outside would be a guranteed ROI of 0.
Meanwhile any French viewer that would not watch the stream because someone is speaking english would be a loss of advertising. And unfortunately, so many people are still bad at english in France, it's scary compared to germany/scandinavia.

Yes, the blog of Totalbiscuit summarizes the sponsor thing pretty well. Numericable just doesn't give a shit about international audience, just like Ting.com doesn't care about people out of USA. Nobody out of France will ever subscribe to Numericable. It's a shame that the non-french people feel forsaken but making english videos (for example) would be a loss of time for absolutely 0 benefit.

Dayshi vs. Solar will be a good match! Solar is pretty scary being from Samsung Khan and doing well in tons of online cups but Dayshi is definitely one of the best Terrans the foreign scene has to offer right now.
Excited to hear that Solar has decent English! I didn't expect that :o

There is a standard delay whicih was recently introduced with Twitch, nothing Nathanias can do about it... You should just be happy that they took the decision from you what to watch as soon as the Naniwa Scarlett showmatch goes online.

Samsung Khan (now with 100% more Milky Way) is the team of the B-teamers. eMotion, Solar and BurNing, despite their complete lack of offline results, are part of the next generation of SC2 pros. With no history in competitive Brood War to speak of, these are the KeSPA pros that are carving names for themself solely on the back of their performances in SC2, through almost solely online tournaments. These three guys play a lot of online cups and qualifiers. Although their match histories aren't the most impressive, all of them have at least one match-up hovering around 65% win rate or higher, despite the great wall of lag that often hinders Korean players from performing in EU cups.
Solar is pretty close to 70% win rate in ZvT at the moment. He's not very well known yet, but he's an extremely tough opponent for anyone. I'll be mildly surprised if Dayshi manages to take a map.
Solar beat stephano in SPL tho (I mostly remember him not really thinking much of stephano resulting in pages on pages of freaking stephano fanboy rage)

Solar said he would love to play abroad, CJ and SKT1 are really good and INnoVation is the best Terran, sOs/Rain is the best Protoss and Jaedong is the best Zerg in the world.
He learnt a lot about Stephano, some koreans players said that they had to beat Stephano because he's a foreigner.

he also said he has matured and no longer believe he'll spend his life traveling around the world partying he says he has absolutely no plan in esport for 2014, he just wants to have fun in tourney no matter the result
(mindgames!)
surprisingly, the esport community is a lot more about partying than playing videogames alone behind a pc and that's what he misses in his current student life, but he plan to change that
