It's that time of year again, folks. We're proud to announce the 4th inception of the Rumble in the Bronze event, with iNcontrol, Dimaga, and Axslav!
More importantly, once again we'll be spotlighting our wonderfully-adorable "lower" league players from the general community.
Starting this Saturday the 14th at 3 PM EST!
Here are the top 8 finalists who will rumble for us all: dragonfire phoenix clutch Xyraine Due to unforseen circumstances Xyraine can't join us and Callow, the old champion, will defend his throne Purge [oLCi]Barcode MDFrostbite RaZorwire
Below is the event schedule. Remember that we ran an open bracket tournament to get our Rumble players. Those in the RO8 will continue playing onward. Those that didn't make it past the RO16 are being used as cannon fodder for the mob's entertainment!

We'll be raising money for Child's Play. For information about this charity you can visit their website or watch this video for some behind-the-scenes information.
About the event: The Rumble in the Bronze is a tournament / charity-fundraising event put together by 100% community volunteers. It is a combination of hard-core Bronzesque play and fun showmatches with pros. Since 2010, we've gathered together to let low-level players duke it out for the entertainment of the masses, while raising money for a good cause. All combined we've raised over $26,800 due to the generosity of the eSports community.
Here's a sincere look at the community members that make up our contestants.
and a small taste of what the Rumble has been like

As for the Rumble itself, we have some great games planned for you guys. Stay tuned as we release more details in the coming weeks!
you guys will have a chance to participate in the event! We are holding a one-day "offline" qualifying mini-tournament to compete for 16 open spots to be part of the Rumble.
- The qualifying tourney will be on Saturday, November 23rd at Noon EST - Bronze to Gold players only - Signups will be open until an hour before the tournament and we'll contact contestants via email / bnet with the channel name when we begin. - Update: Wood League players also welcome
More details on the mini-tournament can be found in the sign-up form. Please fill out the form completely as we'll be verifying that you're a true... "casual" player.

Currently 46 wins out of 80 in gold league.
If would say go ahead since season 3 ended 5 months ago. We'll check your bnet rank history and if the elder gods deem it so, they'll let you know.
Question though; can you sign up regardless of region? I'm Gold on EU, can I sign up that character? Or do you have to have an NA-character in bronze, silver or gold?

Yeah if you're bronze to gold in any region then go ahead and sign up. You should make sure you can join NA though as that's where most all the games will be, including the main event.
If we're currently in gold and sign up, but get promoted during the next season before the tournament (starting tomorrow), are we no longer eligible to play?

I say go ahead and sign up. We'll look at your league history. If your mmr is high enough to put you in plat you might not makethe cut. Keep in mind that some of the players in wood league will have eenough trouble keeping the gerbil running the hamster wheel to keep their video card running.
I haven't played SC2 since the May this year. Used to be plat, now in silver, though my profile shows 1v1 platinum on the right still. Is it possible to get in?

Apparently?
Also, you're going down.
Starcraft is kind of like heavyweight wrestling, right?
EDIT: I'd also like to request that I play felisconcolori in the first round, but that round actually be a best of seven instead of a best of one. For more epic-ness ♥

Ummmm, fill out the form again with your NA name, so that the right name goes on the brackets.
As for what channel, we'll send out an email tomorrow Friday of what channel to be in, and another again when signups close an hour before the tourney.
May the odds be ever in your favour! (you'll need 'em)

I'd figure you were already in full try-hard mode for the next LRSL. But yes. Practice!

I should join that next time around if there's an opening and I'm available Looked really fun ^^
Thanks so much to the admins and even other players. This thing was a ton of fun. Everyone is so good mannered, it's amazing. I can't wait til Dec.7th!
We have our top and bottom 8 players for the final Rumble on the 7th!!
Top 8 players who will move on to compete for the coveted King of the Bronze title! dragonfire phoenix clutch Xyraine Purge [oLCi]Barcode MDFrostbite RaZorwire
Bottom 8 who will also join us for a "consolation prize" Battletoads Jan TheDaftOne EmperorZerg kBonoNET Odabear Jernstolpe HeirOfBreath
We'll contact you guys individually about the 12-7. All we can say for now is... be prepared!
Thank you so much for organising, this was so much fun to play in a tournament against people of the same level.
I'm still in the Bottom 8 (as EmperorZerg), so I'm really excited about that. But can I ask - are all the games going to be casted or just a selection? I would give anything to have a game of mine casted, especially live.

On the main event, all games will be casted live.
No pressure! Haha!
Looking forward to (hopefully) putting on an entertaining show!
Signed up for this. Unfortunately I did not get any info so I decided to go to Red Bull battle grounds. After 20 mins of being at battlegrounds I get an email with my bracket position -_-. Sorry for the no show will definitely be trying again next time around.
Also maybe alert people a little sooner that they are in the tournament.
On November 25 2013 07:40 GalDiator wrote: The matches for top 8 then the semis will BO what?
im guessing quarters will be BO3 semis will be BO5 and finals will be BO7?
and what will be the maps and how much time will it take? :ca:
Hehe... all games from Quarter finals up through Semis will NOT be standard games. They WILL test your skills though, so fear not and practice your mad nunchuck and bowhunting skills. Finals will be BO5.
I say again though, this won't be just a standard tournament. We'll post all the details this weekend!
On that note: We are changing the event date to 12-14 to avoid conflicting with Shoutcraft America and ASUS ROG. Will update the OP tonight. All players have been contacted via email.
BTW, its going to be a 30 mins game of micro tournament and the top 4 with the most points will movie on correct? How is this going to be casted and will there be a e-mail regarding the time, what channel to join etc??
Although you will play, your bunch is more like cannon fodder for the BM casting overlords during your games. There's no way to prepare for that. Mwhaahhahaa!
You'll still get an email tomorrow of where to be at what time though.

Huge props to everyone involved producing this, one can't really imagine a better cause. Thanks to the pros who agreed to appear on the show and my fellow bronzies, it was an honour battling with you!
Best of luck to Child's play in the future! Oh and GG and Congratz to phoenix. You're silver now I guess. :D
Yes, thank you to everyone. It was great fun taking part and $3,613 raised for charity (as it currently stands) is really excellent.
If there are VODs released, I'd love to watch it back from the viewers' perspective with commentary rather than a player's perspective. Posting a link here if they get up would be great. <3
Yes, the technical issues and scheduling conflicts hurt us and our viewership a lot, but we still managed to raise $3,613 with only an average of ~220 viewers the entire show. That just goes to show you how big SC players' hearts are.
<3 ++
I'm personally not aware of too many other SC charity events these days so whatever we do manage to pull off is THAT much more necessary. We'll have VODs up shortly.
