MarineKing was supposed to join IM before he left them for prime IIRC he joined Prime because he was recruited by July (FantaPrime at the time) who then promptly left for StarTale lol

IM may have won another GSTL season though. With a better training environment he may have turned out to be a better player as well even though he was doing pretty damn well in early 2012. Imagine if he was on a team where he wasnt financing a lot of it and had an actual practice regime instead of lol let's ladder! oh well

It's just that these days being a good mechanical player won't get you anywhere without the decision-making to back it up. If the trade lock ends and he gets snatched up by KeSPA, then I think he'll have another good shot at a championship.
I honestly don't know why he's still on Prime, except for maybe loyalty, but that's not going to win you trophies nor make you money ...
@ Zenbrez: Other eSF teams do ladder a lot, but Prime in particular is known for mass laddering for practice.

Not trying to start a debate, just curious if my memory is correct - didn't Life say he was just playing ladder during the GSL he won?
|
Lots of great series so far, i'm excited for the Ro4! Jaedong vs Taeja 4-3 finals make it happen!

Anyways, I think in interviews he said he laddered up until the Ro4, then he started actually practicing with teammates iirc? It can't have all been just ladder though, because if that were the case, he would've broken out on ZeNEX. Having a structured practice schedule, a supportive environment, and decent coaching probably played a large role in his rise.
(Rumors abound saying that Prime is lacking in all three of these categories.
Funny tidbit: ST used to be known as a team for having the least rigorous practice schedules.)

So excited for TaeJa vs Bomber. Expecting an epic series of TvT. The most beautiful matchup in sc2. Both players playing such high level tvt's lately it should be a classic.
But I guess that gives it a good chance to disappoint also

This has, thus far anyway, been the best SC2 tournament of all time. I don't even think its that close, when you factor in everything from talent level, to hype/fan interest, to production quality, to the quality of the games.
But, that will be overshadowed if Day 3 is a bust. Here's hoping that no matter who wins, the quality of play stays as high as its been.

Still, I really want to see Mvp and MarineKing on IM together for so many reasons... MarineKing is solid mechanically, so why not have Mvp mentor him? Mvp knows what's up in terms of build orders, strategies, tactics, mind games, mental strength, etc.
Now that I put it that way, I think Coach Mvp would be imba.

I was going to post more about Mvp but then I know some people don't like the Mvp circle jerk that inevitably happens in LR threads
(they don't like it bec their players don't win anything lololol)
