hey at least it wasn't as bad as their KSL performances. I'll give Bomber the benefit of the doubt here though since he has actually won some tournaments before. I think he's the favorite to take it. Probably the most likeable player on StarTale, too.

I don't know when Bomber had such a surge in popularity. Usually you can sit down and point to when or how (like HerO or Taeja joining TL, or Mvp's wrists breaking), but even after Raleigh, he wasn't that popular. Wonder if it was the Bomber's Law article.

Bomber's been popular for a long, long time, IDK man. Maybe not as much as he is now but he's probably always been the most popular player on ST other than when PartinG was doing all the soul train stuff.

I agree. He's been somewhat popular (or at least known) for a long time, but I feel like there was a lull period in maybe 2012 where some people gave up on him ever winning Korean championships. I think that's when the whole Bomber's Law began. However, ever since WCS began he's proved he has what it takes to still be a contender.
  • WCS KR S1 Ro8
  • WCS KR S2 Ro4
  • WCS S2 Finals Ro4 at least
I think Bomber's Law was formally established November 22nd, 2012:

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=383531

(T)ST_Bomber vs (P)ClassicPrime

Bomber's Law: Bomber will always disappoint.

Corollary to Bomber's Law: If Bomber does not disappoint, it will be in order to set up a bigger disappointment later.

Well this TvT is going to be sick, though there's been a lot of great games this tournament already... As for the second part of your request, not sure I can help you.

Ouch, that timing. Looks like I'm going to miss the whole thing. I'll watch the VoDs though I guess, though it won't be the same without LR.

or LG-IM adds to their mountain of trophies

I really want to see a picture of EVERY trophy.

I'm pretty sure the internet can't handle a picture that massive, I just checked on aligulac and LG-IM seems to be the only team with 4 players with a rating over 1700, Startale seems to be the only one with 3

tl;dr ST gosu

I agree, but IM is more gosu

ST has had to survive two of their star players leaving in the course of a week, I think you should cut them some slack. ;(

Well that's the strength of IM: player retention. I mean, can you even remember the players who left IM for another team?

Off the top of my head I can remember GanZi (way back before he even joined SlayerS) and Seed (when the IM manager actually recommended that Seed transfer to FXO).

All I know is I desperately want JD to advance to the finals. As to how the rest plays out whatever just hoping for great games. JvTaeja or JvBomber would be badass... although while I like Taeja and would still like seeing him winning this I think Jaedong v Bomber final would be a bit more evenly matched and crazier. Honestly Taeja has looked ridiculous lately, who can stop this guy, I just fear JD might win a great series against First but then slightly underperform in the final against a ridiculously strong opponent like Taeja (just like he did in the WCS America ro4 and final against Polt).

well we'll see... JD hwaiting

For those asking for a picture of IM's trophies

from December 2011 (most recent):

They have since added:

+2 GSL championship trophies
-1 GSL trophy assuming Seed took his to FXO
+ Homestory Cup 2nd place (has a huge trophy lol)
+3 IEM championships
+ WCS EU championship
+ IPLTAC3 championship
+ GSTL championship

I did not count the numerous other 2nd place finishes since I don't know if those have trophies.

You're right. I checked Liquipedia (http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Incredible_Miracle#Former) and was suprised by how many players have actually left IM considering its reputation for retention, but when you actually think about it, only one player, Seed, has left IM for a new team since Ganzi, whose transfer was way before I even knew much about the SCII scene. It's astonishing!
