Not only do the Kespa players care more about Proleague, they have an entire organization complete with experienced staff there to prepare every player for every game. Couple that with no traveling, which the kespa players are obviously not used to as evidenced by numerous interviews at previous MLG events. Taeja has tremendous experience playing these weekend tournaments and frequently travels. He obviously is going to do better in these games than bo1 games where you spend an entire week practicing for. I get that, but the players just played like trash comparatively to what they'd played like before. Taeja's only just getting back into that groove of stomping everyone. I'm mega biased too, so excuse my giddyness :D Well yeah its a different format. Plus even if EG-TL had the same proleague resources as Kespa, they still wouldn't be able to do as well because of commitments to streaming and traveling to foreign tournaments. Also Rain played pretty poorly in these games, especially when he walked into the open with those collosus in game 2.
Well, I guess that is why EG-TL did poorly in Proleague, because their players focused on individual leagues. For people making excuses for Kespa players doing poorly, the same can be applied to EG-TL for Proleague.

If you want to get technical, Parting was a practice partner for eStro. You see that? Thats the point. Flying over your head. Parting obviously didn't succeed with the KeSPA training regiment. Besides, he wasn't even exposed to the full extent of it, being a B team dish washer. He probably didn't even live at the team house full time.
Most KeSPA teams are much smaller in StarCraft 2 than in Brood War. Less teams, and the teams that do exist cut tons of B-teamers and practice partners. The players still around are GOOD, and are definitely benefiting from KeSPA training. Which means being a KeSPA player nowadays is even more exclusive than in the Brood War days.

I'm speaking of Mass Viking/Ghost in particular. No Marines, no Marauders. I've played against it, and I've never won.
If Terran reaches that point, Protoss dies. Lots of stalkers + lots of colossus is very good. If you add tempest, even better. Scan, kill Observers/Oracles. Cloak Mass ghosts. EMP and kill everything. Use any remaining Vikings to help DPS down Colossus and any Tempests. You take a defensive posture. You add cannons. Watch HasuObs ultra-late. If you lose in the defensive with lots of colossus/tempest and stalkers behind cannons and few hts, you really are doing something very wrong. Nuclear launch detected brah. Kills dem cannons. Jesus shut up. Statistics favor Protoss over Terran and besides Taeja the Terrans got smoked everywhere all over the world. Protoss dominates all the ladders on highest level. Rain made huge mistakes here so if you want to base that series as balance test "BRAH" jesus christ. I cannot believe people like you but on the other hand yeah, they exist. Wow. Relax man, don't rage. And I'm not Jesus, I know it seems like that, but I'm not that good yet, Anyway, Rain deserved to lose that series he didn't play well and Taeja played really well, but it had nothing to do with this discussion. The discussion we were having was about Mass Viking/Ghost, because someone said "UltLate game is always protoss favored." In my experience, Mass Viking/Ghost has no counters. Sure you can turtle up, but if you don't have the bases on your side of the map, then you're in trouble. And nukes force engagements and constant movement. Just watch games like Flash vs PartinG on Daybreak, Happy vs HasuObs on Daybreak, Happy vs San on Star Station. NaNiwa vs. ThorZain, Cloud Kingdom. I can quote games too. :S This argument is pointless. Your argument is pointless. He said it has no counter, those games proof there is a counter. Yours just shows that the Terran can win with the composition so you miss the point.
Winning or losing a game is correlated to, but not caused by unit counters. This isn't rock-paper-scissors.
Stardust beat Jaedong with Immortals and Zealots versus Mutalisks during Dreamhack. I don't think anyone would argue that Immortals and Zealots counter Mutalisks. Stardust won because he outplayed Jaedong in a base race.
I'll admit I don't watch as much SC2 as I used to, and I'll check out those games. If they actually show pure Ghost/Viking used decently versus decent Protoss play with no major mistakes on either side, then I'll happy admit I'm totally wrong.

If this was BW then yeah, I'd consider him to be a KeSPA player. But his current team is EGTL. Has little to do with the game played. Has to do with the mindset, mental training as well as training regiment. Though, I think being a top tier Brood War champion helped too. Well, yeah. A lot of KeSPA players trained for 8 years but very few of them get the same sort of skill and results as JD. Yeah, but even the lower tier ones are owning top eSF players in StarCraft 2. Sup? What's your point again? I kinda lost it. My point was that he's not in KeSPA anymore. Whether or not he's KeSPA-trained isn't relevant. It is relevant because obviously due to his success in Brood War and now StarCraft 2 that he has adapted to the KeSPA training routine, and it has paid off for him. You don't give up 8 years recipe for fame and success just because you've joined a foreigner/ESF team. KeSPA players are just better most of the time for obvious reasons - they have the best training environment and practices known to eSports. Yeah, but now he's not in KeSPA anymore. What he learned there affects how he plays, not who he represents.

And it's not just one or two of them. 3 EGTL players topped their groups, Jaedong is in the Ro4, aLive almost made it there, Taeja is fucking insane, HerO is the next big tournament winner (heard it here first), Oz is getting much better, Revival won IEM, HerO won WCS America season 1. Naniwa is living at the EGTL house and he's getting super good. The EGTL house is seriously one of the best practice environments in the world right now. Guess coach park gave them more than they could ever imagine He did and I've said it all along. People were expecting results much too quickly. But if they were to enter Proleague in full force the way they're now? They can beat ANYBODY Reminds me of that interview where flash said you will start to get results of your practice 6 months-1 year later Reminds me of this gem from the latest des leesang interview
Flash: Correct, with hard practice, many players see results after three to six months. There are some that improve faster, but those cases rarely last long. With focused practice you generally see results after six months. If Jaedong practices like he used to, we might hear some good news in the future.
Jaedong: Thanks for understanding (laugh). It would be nice if people understood that as well. Almost nobody sees results from practice immediately. I am also looking forward to the end of the year for that reason. I am now practicing full-on and mashing my keyboard and mouse with the fervor of the old Jaedong.
