All he has to do is get past Bomber and he could potentially be a back-to-back, 2-time OSL champion. that's probably what symbol and bogus thought when they drew maru too symbol: whew i got maru instead of soulkey bogus: whew i got maru instead of symbol ... etc I don't think there is anything wrong with symbol thinking "whew I got maru instead of soulkey." He got destroyed by Maru but I think he would've lost 3-0 to soulkey in ZvZ anyways. Soulkey has like a 80% winrate in ZvZ and symbol is nothing special in that match-up. And, I don't think Innovation thought "whew i got maru instead of symbol." I think it's obvious Innovation probably has more confidence in his TvZ than TvT. Innovation is the best TvZ player on the planet -- maybe even the best vZ player on the planet. And, he is already familiar with Symbol. The flip side is Rain matches up horribly against Innovation and seemingly well against Maru. Rain prefers safe, standard play and Innovation is unbeatable in TvP unless you have a sniper build / cheese.

You never never can scout the whole map. He DID scout for cheese. Other than that he played a normal solid build order. "Inno on tilt" etc. is really bs. Build order wins ftl... Yeah I don't understand why people criticize scouting so much, all the bitching amounts to "HOW COME YOU DIDNT SCOUT THE EXACT CORRECT WAY YOU NEEDED TO TO WIN!??" Because it's a game with fog of war and sooner or later you simply have to go off of your gut and hope to scout what you need to in order to win? Sometimes that doesn't work out, folks. No one's fault necessarily. On Anaconda he couldve just scouted with the SCV after the depot and see there is nothing in marus base... he didn't do a base scout because it's a cc first so there's no point. what you going to do after you see there's nothing in maru's base? cancel cc and build rax? doesn't matter. too late. I dont think you have ever played terran on master level before. when you arrive with your scout after depot you have 400 minerals and can decide to not put down the cc and go double rax or rax gas instead. This was a 2 player map and really easy to scout ![]() you clearly have not played tvt on the master level. anaconda is way bigger than bel'shir. cc first on that map is not unusual. by the time u do a full base scout of your opponent, you would have more than enough for cc + rax. also scouting = delayed cc and even more delayed rax which defeats the whole purpose of going cc first. i am a master league terran on eu and i know scout timings with cc first very well. i went cc first in every matchup for a few weeks. i have never played on anaconda, but I dont think it takes more time to scout the other main base than on any other 2player map. go open up a custom game, scout with your scv that build the depot and you are at the opponents main at exactly 400 minerals.

and i think inno is proffessional enough to come back stronger than ever. he will work on his TvT, and I am confident that his story isn't over yet. cheering for bomber, and quite confident that bomber can topple rain here. he swiped first 3-0, and we saw what first could do with terrans.

My thoughts: Game 1: Innovation's turret timing was wrong. That never should have happened for a player of his caliber. No banshee damage and he could probably have defended Maru's attack. The banshee also denied an add-on. Innovation wasn't very active with his hellions and didn't see the attack coming at all. Game 2: Clever build by Maru and Innovation just chose the wrong build to counter by going Raven first, an investment that isn't worth it at all. The second medivac was completely unexpected but Innovation should have seen it coming. Star sense makes long term champions. Game 3: BO loss, but why CC first on a map where you can't wall in due to debris blocking one hex? Even if you wall off, the rocks will go down and the marines will still get in. Game 4: Straight up outplayed. Innovation shouldn't have lost those units in the middle of the map. I have no idea what he was thinking being there knowing Maru had gone for early attacks all 3 games.
