I'm not Day9, Husky or TB. I don't make money of YT that is in any way worth the time put in. For me YT right now is simply a way of providing additional content for the community and expressing my thoughts in a better way. And since this topic obviously makes up for a heated discussions it'll be the much better medium to express in detail WHY I think that this is not the proper way to run WCS.

I prefer this type of format to Gom's format. While I agree that they should play the first 2 matches of the group on the same day, I don't think there is much of a difference between between 1 and 2. Most people who watch SL follow it on a match-day-to-match-day basis.

I think Gom's system is actually really unfair and has too much bracket luck involved. There is such a big difference between having a 3 race group, a 2 race group, and a 1 race group and the only thing that determines which straw you draw is bracket luck. Having to prepare for up to 3 different match-ups for one match day is just... stupid. When I see a player like Innovation, Soulkey, Flash, Parting, etc. get put in a group with their mirror match-up and the other two races, a little piece of me dies inside. Then, when a sub-par player lucks out and gets into a ZPPP / TPPP / PZZZ / ZTTT etc. group as the solo race, the rest of me dies. With this format, at least players can prepare for 1 match-up for each match day.
