And it's delicious hypocrisy, because you wouldn't hear a word if he said "HE JUST MURDERED HIS OPPONENT". Well, there's not an issue with a threat of murder that's surrounding a good part of the population. So there is quite a difference, and using the word rape obviously alienates a lot of people. That should be reason enough not to do it. Even if it's impossible to relate to personally for some people. more people are likely to be murdered than raped? How is alienating rape victims any different than alienating family members of people who have been murdered? lololol this makes less sense. Note that I said threat. Rape being a preeminent threat for a huge amount of women throughout their lives, in personal relations, when walking alone and elsewhere. Sadly, you can't explain these kinds of things to a gaming audience for the most part. I have very little faith in the gaming audience and the misogyny that permeates throughout it.
I don't think women should go through their lives with the constant threat of rape in the back of their head that's just stupid. It's obviously a big problem in some countries and of course it happens and you shouldn't take it lightly but it's a rather small chance that it might happen to you. So using the word is not problematic because of discriminating women but because it suggests that "being raped" is embarrassing and your own fault and "raping someone" is an achievement. However words and phrases have different meanings in different contexts.

rofl RedEye smoked a bit too much on this one.

Pretty weird asking several questions about TLO from ForGG, me thinks.

Sadly, you can't explain these kinds of things to a gaming audience for the most part. it's true, a huge portion of the gaming community are horrid misogynists that don't really understand the world You really think ''a huge portion of the gaming community are horrid misogynists''? Really? Agreed, I think that's a gross and unfair generalization. I most often see the "gamers are x negative stereotype" from people who are part of the community but think they're smarter, more mature, and generally better people. Gamers, like people from every walk of life, are far too varied to be simply labeled "horrid misogynists" but thanks for revealing your absurd level of perceived maturity and self-importance.
Because not being offended by 1 Nerd saying he raped another nerd when talking about playing video games... means ur a mysogynist
If MC actually ripped off Apollo's clothes and forcefully stuck his penis into any of Apollo's orifices... or said ANYTHING to depict that image... i would be offended.
How any1 can come from gaming culture, and not understand the accepted connotation of the word Rape in a setting revolving around Video games is not offensive
More people are offended by words like "fuck" "shit" "bitch" yet people arent going around crying about it
u can murder the shit out of whatever u want... but if one man says he raped another man when discussing video games... PITCHFORKS!
