Why the first round is called "Round of 40" if there are only 32 players? Why the second is "Round of 24" if there are only 16 players(16 winners from Round 1 Challenger)? Because there are 40 players. 8 more will drop from premium in the 2nd group stage. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2013_WCS_Season_1_Europe/Challenger That is exactly what I was thinking, but still think its impossible to mix in Round of 40 players dropped from Ro 32 and Ro 24 with players from Ro16.Its not fair. This is not the worst: check this link and tell me what do you think.I count and recount the brackets and there are only 8x4=32 into 8x2=16 into 8+8 from Ro16 Premier players.Still dont understand where are they going to take players from to build the group stage with 32 players. Check this: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2013_WCS_Season_1_Europe/ChallengerBottom is the Bracket for the Bracket stage... It starts with 8 brackets of 4 players = 32 In the third round 8 more players are added from r2 premium = 8 32 + 8 = 40 Edit: I'll try to explain it with a picture from one of 8 brackets. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Eo4UdRm.jpg) Ok.I can see this, but still no sense. Why call the First round "40" if there are only 32 players in the first brackets? Only 16 will advace to round 2,the supposed "RO24".The winners from here are 8 of 16 and they go to the third and LAST round of another 16 players which are the 8 winners from round 2(Ro24) and the 8 players who got eliminated from the Group stage of 16 in the Premier. This is not all!!! After round 3 in Challenger the losers are going into Group stage of 8 groups with 4 players.8 from Rouns 3,8 from Round 2 and 16 from Round 1= 32 players needed for a Stage Group of 8 Groups with 4 players.Still cant see the logic of calling it RO40 and Ro24. In Korea it is much easier: RO48 into RO32(24 RO48 winners+8 RO32 CODE S losers) into RO 24(16 RO32 CODE A winners+8 CODE S RO16 losers). I think it's just a mistake like you said. It should be Ro32 -> Ro24 -> Ro16 By that logic it should be Ro32 -> Ro16 -> Ro16. EDIT: Previous post :D You're right. I was thinking of Korea where they drop people down to the second round too instead of both 3rd and 4th place to the first round. Doesnt make sense to call it ro40 though or else korea should should Ro60 right?

Its not only happening in EU.The actual NA brackets are the same format.I would like to see the same schedule and format for NA,EU and KR.Still there are lot more good players in KR I guess, but why not allow EU and NA to have the same amount of players if there is the same amount of money? If you go and check there are prizes for people till the 64th in Challenger...same as in KR...

I would love to see ToD, Tarson, Fuzer and MC go through. They may not be the best players out there (except for MC), but I like their attitude and how much overall value they give to every tournament they attend

Is it really so difficult to realise the brackets BEFORE the stream begins and only show us games once the time has come??? This is so unproffesional...Close the sign up time 2 or 3 hours before the stream goes on and make the brackets, which takes such as 30 mins???Come on,ESL,you can do it much better

Well... lets just say that this is far from optimal.

So does anyone know if there will be an actual RO1024 today?

Looks like the brackets are delayed. Time to have lunch woo !

Giving players more time to signup and check-in and then doing the brackets is worth having the spectators wait. You get riled up about nothing really.

Was kinda looking forward to these HUGE qualifiers again, but I guess with the new masters league requirement it's not gonna happen

Oh, but when things get rushed and eventually go wrong there's also bitching and moaning, and people eventually get fired.
You get what you pay for. The only people here who are truly affected here are the players. Stop moaning.
