MOD NOTE: The bracket on Liquipedia is not final and should be assumed to be speculative. If you are a competitor, trust what MLG Admins tell you over the bracket. |

It would be nice if the various WCS regions actually had the same setup. But to answer your question, no, you are definitely not the only one.

Typical Jaedong getting knocked out by dumb ZvZ matches.

A lot of people seem to want this. Seems ridiculous to me as well. Well if you have 15 koreans in the top 16, it will be like Code B with same prize pool as GSL Code S. Right, it is silly either way but that is a result of the way Blizzard designed WCS. The solution to the problem isn't to make it even dumber by making it a NA-only arena with a 100k prize pool. Why not? It makes sense if it's the best of one region. It makes no sense if it's the lower tier of another region.
Thank you. WCS America should just be renamed GSL Code B to save us all the confusion. At what point does it cease being WCS America and become WCS Western Korea? When no one from the region beats the qualifiers? When a third of the competitors in the Premier League need a translator? Or is it when they realize that when they do the offline events that they're paying for more international plane tickets than trans-America ones?
Anyway, congrats Alicia and Oz. You can't take away a win in a 512 man tourney, even if I think you shouldn't have been allowed to sign up in the first place.

They were both lost in the early game, and early game ZvZ is probably the most lag affected match up

You mean the organization that Blizzard will not let cast on their own channel? Blizzard wants a "unified approach", one broadcasting organization per region. That is their plan, this has nothing to do with MLG. MLG could not give a caster spot to anyone else even if they wanted to. Blizzard doesn't want that to happen.

Didn't EG-TL play their PL match yesterday?

Interesting note: Center, JD, and Zenio are all going to Dreamhack next weekend. If they don't qualify here, they might have to sit out the challenger league qualifier next Saturday (unless they get dropped from dreamhack on day 1).

Why were the EU qualifiers on tons of different streams then..?

According to the official bracket, there's about to be a game in the loser bracket between aiurrrrrrrrrr and aaaaaaa.
This is way funnier to me than it should be.

I never said it was MLG's fault did I? I know full well its blizzards decision, and its a shitty one. Sure if they want everything on a unified channel for the main events thats perfectly fine. But there is no reason why they cant allow some other casters for open qualifiers. Or at least contract out the work. I'm sure some sort of arrangement could be made.
I mean we have watched all day, and just when the elite games come on, the cast is ending.
edit. Axeltoss and Axslav are saints for casting all day already... not taking away anything from them

Wow this is still going on. Seems like a terrible time for Australasian players.

Yep, but they're playing again on Monday: 29 hours from now.

Different languages, it's why the double english stream(NASL) got shut down.

So how come there were like 8 casters for the WCS EU qualifier? Yeah there was esl.pl and stuff, but there were also casters that aren't associated with the ESL at all.
different languages doesn't explain it either, there were 2 german casts.

Good point, I shudder to think about what that would have ended up looking like.
