Otherwise the cup would take too long or we would have to split it over two days. The latter is what we are planning to do with the final cup on Wednesday (thus no cap on maximum signups there). Would be good if the remaining spots were only open to masters and GM players then.

And it looks like Sasquatch is really trying to qualify on EU, seems strange to lock yourself to EU for the whole year as a decent NA pro, not sure whether that will pay off.

Yeah you're probably right especially if they aren't used to it. EU qualifiers are so much more interesting than the NA cause a bunch of different people could get out of these :D

I'm wondering what the expected endtime is, my fuzzymath says this tournament won't be done before 3 AM.

I just hope they manged to catch some sleep beforehand, this will be a loooong night for them. ![]() On April 14 2013 20:15 RaiderRob wrote: Good luck to all competitors and may the best man win! That depends heavily on how far players like Goody and Hasuobs go (are there any other players out there well known for their turtly style?).

Kaup. Oh god, the only games I've ever seen of Kaup have all been split map ones. Fuzer can turtle, too. Nightend likes to play safe, etc. Pretty sure there are a lot of players who can produce overly long games. And Hasu was invited already for whatever reason, so you won't have to worry about him.

It is enough to field all non-invited EU grandmasters and high masters who are eligible for it (especially since there probably are some NA / KOR players on top of the ladder on EU). And these qualifiers are only for the 8 remaining spots in Code S, where - in comparison to the spots in Code A - I see less need to give worse players a chance. edit: worse players meaning players where I do have a chance to win one out of a hundred games. :D
