The usual: Don't flame casters or players. Don't discuss balance in this or any LR thread. Don't call your fellow posters idiots. Be excited, happy and entertained. |

If he was born in US, but speaks Korean also, that's not BS. The whole point of why American Koreans can be better is because they can read Korean website and find good way and good partners to practice with. They can talk to other Koreans, that's the edge for players to be better than foreigners.

LoL has 32 million active users, they have plenty of people they can grab through marketing and advertising to watch their streams. 100k viewers is like 0.3% of its playerbase. Though this should tell you how dedicated starcraft fans are relative to the playersize Haha, I was going to say that too. 32 million players yet they can only pull in 100k to watch MLG, while SC2 only has a few million (4 million?) and we are able to get the same amount. there's no MLG for lol, just the same championship games they get every single week there was a showmatch, but it was yesterday
wait there's no MLG for LoL? why not and why is MLG hosting the LCS games then

What's your point exactly? That the most talented player could play only 4 hours a day and be better than the best foreigners who play a lot (which we know they don't)?
Yeah, maybe, or maybe Flash is what he is because he works harder and plays more than everybody else (which we know he is).

Regardless, at this point I'm expecting an all korean top 8. I'll be respectful about Stephano loses when Stephano fanboys are respectful about them.... "These guys are jerks, so I'll be be a jerk back" Well, I can see the reasoning obviously, but it sure leads to a really hostile community.
Haters are always gonna hate. They just make up excuses to attempt to justify it.

Hell yeah! You're a bit late to the party. Stephano's games were maxing at about 82k. 82k people watched Stephano get destroyed by a player 99% of them have never heard of before since Last has only played in PL and the first sc2 OSL. Goodbye foreigner hope ;/
How many more times are people like Artosis going to have to say that there are incredible players in Korea that don't get exposure because of the crazyness that is most Korean rosters before this stops being a thing? Last is obviously very skilled and is now getting his shot.

No Terran has lost a series yet, except in TvT. Is Polt going to be the first in this Tournament?

With equal practice everyone should be able to get the same skilllevel. Kind of mindboggling. They don't practice equally though. Also Koreans don't have to stream as much as foreigners do because of the infrastructure already in place with the team houses in Korea. So it has a lot to do with the infrastructure allowing them to practice like crazy without worrying about exposure and the willingness to do so. The infrastructure didnt build itself though. Most ESF Koreans sacrificed salary for a practice house. The problem with the foreign scene is that all the major tournaments are spread out. They need something like the GSL to center their houses around. The bulk of players in the West are never going to up and move to a center location just to practice and compete evenly with Koreans. I believe the scene is going to die before that happens. Practically speaking, people here by and large don't treat the game with the same amount of dedication and never have. Very few people think of this as a permanent career. Those that do have found ways to go to Korea, but then discovered that they're isolated there, too.
Agreed. I also think that foreigners are not willing to give up their salaries.

They're not OP though, daddy told me so.
User was warned for this post Did TL have live threads for BW OSLs? The complaining for the 2007 EVER tournament must have been legendary. I know I should know this, but what was it that happened in EVER OSL? Did Bisu get cheesed out? EVER 2007 was Jaedong's rise.
He walked the Royal Road for that one I think.
The Ro16 had 9 Terrans, though.
