Zerg with really effective early game cheeses and strongest late game. All early game Terran cheese shut down by queens, so Terran has to play greedy to keep up and aim for a strong mid game timing. And that is all Terran can do in TvZ in WoL.

It's funny how many people argue that Zerg isnt the strongest by now..by saying "hey look how good T was 2011". they dont want to balance the game, they want revenge for the T domination in 2011 i guess?

Roro kicked Taeja's ass. Taeja got to the semifinals with some luck, placing 2nd in both group stages and then hanging on to beat Soulkey 3-2. Roro is the better player in this tournament. He is worthy of being a GSL champion.

But fuck ZvZ.

This tbh.

The only ZvZs I enjoy, in general, involved Nestea or Life

The sad thing is, if DRG or Life had done this exact same thing, I bet you this thread would be full of "DRGs just on a different level from Taeja" or "Life is simply invincible right now." But because Roro's so unknown, it somehow has to be because zerg is an imbalanced race.

It sucks that there are no longer constructive criticism of the game these days, because there's only whinning for the sake of whining.

Yeah Roro is the better player but still Zergs are winning everything for the last 6 months. It cannot be only skill.

The difference is that you expect a game to actually get MORE balanced after 3 years than it was in the beginning. When you end up with this, suffice to say someone bungled at the job.

or people are just butt hurt cause taeja, who everyone(~70%) wanted to see win; now we cry imba...as LR threads usually go

To address your main point, the main reason people wanted taeja to win was to avoid the 1000th anniversary edition of a ZvZ finals in the last year of wol :D

3 ZvZ GSL finals counting this one. 5 TvT finals.

You're aware that GSL is not the only tournament in the world, yes?

The biggest buff to Zerg is its near impossible to hurt Zerg early game. Faster overlords, six range stalkeresque queens...
Queen buff is ridiculous. Pop out 4-6 and hellions, banshees, early game few units of rines can't pressure.

Man, at the highest level I'd even prefer the Zerg to be stronger with infestors and weaken the queens so at least Terran has a chance at slowing Zerg macro down. End game a concentrated Zerg army is always going to destroy a T-ball anyday eitherway.

It is like terrans didn't even pause to breathe before complaining about something else.

he won without abusing BL infestor, but because queens can deflect hellions that means terran can't do anything vs zerg? even though the game usually lasts 15-20 minutes.
look at game 1, taeja played well using drops and beat Roro, furthermore there are plenty of 2 base builds terran can do that blow heavy queen play out of the water,

Roro just played great games 2-5, he had flawless mechanics and some smart all ins, taeja just crumpled and it had nothing to do with imbalance

I'd just like to say that the main reason for the Terran domination in 2011 was that the game wasn't as well figured out yet. As more time passes, the bigger lead Zerg gets because it has such an advantageous race design (larvae, creep spread, single tech structures). The infestor buff was a too powerful for the role it was meant to have, leading to its subsequent nerf.

Yeah Snipe was rathe well balanced i have to say, Just to name one.

Okay

sure you won't, last WOL Finals; if anything you're going to watch it to see roro lose. If someone wasn't going to watch the finals, they wouldn't post it hoping to get attention.

lol... I said I'm not going to, and I'll check TL and hope Roro lost, but I'm certainly not spending time watching it

looking forward to your posts in the thread for the finals.

honestly, i'm not nearly as hyped for them as i would be if taeja won either, but come on guys. all the hardcore sc2 fans are gonna be watching. if you have 3k posts on here, you're gonna be watching the finals (unless you're at work or something at the time).

Hopefully someone can tell me how many times you asked "is liberate71 here yet?" :D

If I could put money on it, I would... *shrugs* I dont know when they are on - so not sure what i'll be doing.

Yes so let's constrictively discuss how good whirlwind is as a map. And we all saw how Roro outplayed Taeja on that map.

whats old fashioned about 10 queens, infinite map control, creep at terrans base at 13min, 4 hatch at 10 min, constantly 60 larva at the zergs disposal? Anyways, Roro is obviously extremely good so grats to him but im afraid the winner of this GSL wont get the full cred he might deserve.

*Roro destroys Taeja's 3rd with constant ling runbys preventing hellions from denying creep, delays terran push timing and economy*

Whiners: Zerg imba!!!

yea and he did this while teching and expanding at the same time

Didn't expect Taeja to lose, but I'm very happy for Roro 4-1.
Something for Taeja to contemplate on, oh my, what a series.

So even though he never used BL infestor, it still had a dramatic effect on the matchup?...I'm curious what brilliant strategies exist that terran can't do because of BL infestor, which terran can scout anyway.

Taeja felt forced to go for extremely greedy openings to keep him on some semblance of even footing going into the late game. He didn't have the luxury of just playing safe and comfortably outplaying his opponent like a Zerg can. Terran have to do something unorthodox because playing a bog standard game against Zerg is like fighting your way uphill.

Because when we had Terran domination in GomTvT it wasn't shoved away as not skillful.

Huh? Liquipedia seems to say 3 Code S TvTs, unless the 2011 Super Tournament counts (I honestly don't remember the details of that tournament, so it may well be 4 TvTs)

RorO ^-^ I was highly amused by the cancelled manner hatches in the last game.

I'm actually looking forward to the finals in hopes of seeing something creative or 20 minutes total of high intensity ling bane wars.

Reminds me of WoW PvP balance a lot. Every season there would be 'flavor of the month' team compositions or classes then the next season they'd suddenly be awful and what was underpowered last season was suddenly overpowered and got 'free gladiator' given they just found other good players to create the flavor composition.

They can't do this with an RTS without making it completely obvious and boring.
