I love parting, but parting didnt win or place high in anything in 2010 or 2011 then in early 2012 he had some reasonable runs but nothing too special until the battle.net world championships where he just took off. Overall hero has had the better consistancy then parting if we go through the whole of wings of liberty. It's really intresting looking at protoss as a whole, MC in my opinion was the only staple protoss and even MC fell quite a few times through out wings. Just seemed like throughout wings protoss hasn't had the stability or something.
To be fair, HerO also had a lot more opportunities since he was on TL.

Feel free to remember that next time you want to argue with me that protoss didn't have the worst time overall in WoL. To be fair, Ps won OSL, BWC Korea, Asia, Global, WCG 2012. So although in terms of GSL, P has had it the worse. These other tournaments make it a bit better (although still last). zerg and terran have won a lot more than that over WoL history though
Haha dat classic convo again...
Oh wow so they are actually even in matchups 4-4
How many other Terrans can claim that from themself from the ``4th tier`` (ur oppinion) against MKP ? hmm probably only Ryung.
Freshly released off TSL he was surely up with the best but fnatic was unable to provide him with a proper practice environment, having guys like Symbol and Hyun wouldnt have hurt his progress...instead all he was ordered to do was carry a mess of a team.
Still at his peak up there with Polt and Taeja imo, their games were always nail biters. Others like Jjakji or Bomber just didnt deliver in TvT.
So I will stick with my oppinion from 2012
Most overrated Terrans: ForGG, SuperNova Most underrated Terrans: aLive (who should really make it to Code S this season, rather than Maru etc)
PS. Unlike most Terrans aLive has 2 top notch matchups in TvT and TvP, and medium TvZ still enough to take out NesTea But hes also pretty unlucky and always has grid ``luck`` getting monsters like PartinG (last season) and Life (this season) to prevent him to get back to Code S

I'm sure I forget notable people, but I think the top 3 (where you can swap MMA for MKP and vice versa) is pretty much undisputable. I can't fathom how it would have gone down if the queen patch didn't happen. MKP did look pretty invincible back then :'( I think, raw skill wise, the best Terran play we've seen might be Taeja. He really encompasses most qualities that a top terran has to have, whereas MKP, as much as I like him, has some flaws. His micro is unparalleled though, that's all that counts for me :D:D
Edit: I forgot jjakji, but I didn't really forget. I can't help but think he was a 1-hit wonder, but he did carry NHSH in team leagues for most of WoL :D Dunno why you think Taeja is the best terran raw skill wise. You could see taeja floating quite a bit of resources regularly. Also he always had a hard time dealing with people pressuring him at his expansions. But i guess you need decide whether you value macro or micro more(Bomber has some SICK mechanics ) edit: If you arent just talking about mechanics, then its obviously Mvp. Cant be smarter than the game genie terran. And nobody else had the reputation of being the best player for long series What do you define as "raw skill"? I just wonder, since if you don't define what you mean behind "raw skill" the argument will probably be pointless.
Mechanics? Lategame army management? Multi-tasking? Bomber and GuMiho shine in this area probably better than anybody else from eSF. For KeSPA, Bogus and Flash looked really good. Fantasy looked kinda shaky, but he's on the losing streak, so it doesn't really matter.
Build order choice? Using wierd builds and end up winning, since they actually work? Mvp, for sure. He is probably the strongest "sniper"-type player in the game so far. You could count SuperNova in this group, too. He is pretty good at using the correct builds.
Micro? Instantaneous splits that take your breath away? Well, PRIME terrans, for sure. jjakji looked really good at his best, not so much right now, though.
Other terran players don't have that many "strong" points, but they're kinda in the middle of everything, what makes them frightening in their own way.

even tho i'm not a fan of teamliquid progaming team, even tho i love soulkey (and kespa), i am very happy for taeja. after bogus got dropped yesterday i'm in dying need of a terran fix.
well fucking played!
also, protoss is such a retarded race in sc2 that i can't bring myself to even cheer for tosses, let alone play my favorite race.

We almost had the 4 Z in ro4, so happy it didn't happen :D Even though i really wanted MC to win.
|
Christ why did all my favorite players be thrown on one side of the bracket?!? I would've preferred ANY of the 4 on this side to Win GSL . Soulkey goes down...I woke up incredibly surprised to that one. MC not so much cause Roro is a boss but not nearly as much as Soulkey.
TaeJa RoRo Curious Symbol

Overall there is no doubt that Parting and MC standout from the protoss. Polt, MVP and MMA stand out for terran. DRG, Nestea and Leenock for zerg. Sure Life is amazing, but has been too short to get into top 3.
|
IMO some players had really amazing runs when they seemed to be above everyone else but not deserve to be the top players of WoL. Life, Taeja and Rain for example.
I do believe Life will be one of the best Zergs of HoTS tho, alongside with the Kespa boys.

Surely Leenock won two MLGs and made it to the GSL finals but Life's GSL, Blizzard Cup, MLG and Iron Squid is surely more impressive. Also I don't know whether Polt really stands out for Terran, I love watching Polt play and he is one of the top Terrans certainly and has shown consistency but I wouldn't put him above MarineKing or TaeJa.
