Because people hold on to love of the game, even if they find the game boring or stale to watch. People hold on to watch their favorite storylines make it through: like Taeja bringing a coveted GSL home for TL, or Bosstoss reclaiming his previous glory as a WOL god. But instead these storylines get snuffed out by zerg players that most don't really care for or don't have an attachment to. You don't need to get defensive of the meta and criticism against it. It's legacy will be just fine without your pointless defensiveness. True SC2 fans will embrace excellent play AND the storylines it harbors. I don't know, I'm kind of sleepy so my post might not make any coherent sense, but if the finals are ZvZ again, I'll be the first to call it boring as fuck without watching it because I've already seen some of the best ZvZ ever orchestrated and I personally want to see something new. Plus I'm rooting for Taeja. So.... I'll watch/complain as I see fit. god I need a nap.

ZvZ has indeed become pretty damn good (many games going late game in many ways with both ultras and blords being used, nydus being pretty used later on ecc) but I believe that we should not hope for ZvZ finals (Well, if you like the MU at that point then do hope for it, just saying). A nice ZvT would be ok.

Zergfest in last WoL season, cant say Iam surprised.
I wonder if Taeja could manage to get 2 maps from Soulkey.
MC is the only hope at this point, if he gets over RorO, any other of the remaining Zergs wont be causing any more problems for the Boss Toss.

Well if he can beat Roro a semi vs Soulkey should be very doable.
vs Taeja could be harder for him with his PvT looking weaker than PvZ lately.
That said: Curious is my pick for the strongest ZvP in the tournament. I would love to see a MC vs Curious grand final. That's my hope at the moment. I mean it would even have a cool set up. Ro32 MC 2-0. Ro16 Curious 2-0.

TvT is insanely good almost every single game I watch. TvP is exciting in mid and early game too. But ZvX is just a snore fest. Even PvP is better than ZvZ to me.

ZvT can be really good if the Zerg plays like DRG with Zergling/Baneling/Muta.

can't believe what a joke the gsl has become not even at the height of Gom tvt was it as bad as this crap. Might as well forget about playing the ro4 and finals and say fruitdealer wins because the way Zerg is balenced I am sure he could win just as easy as curious

Wow... love all this Z hate. Innovations game 4 just showed how powerful Terran can be. Is it so hard to think that these Zerg players are actually amazingly good and just have better nights?
DRG falling in a group of 3 Terrans?
Parting beating Life and Bbong?
After reading posts blaming balance it's as if you'll only be happy if the game had 2 races T and P...
As far what is BETTER TO WATCH because it's INTERESTING; the only mirror match up I like is TvT. Every TvT is epic and just insane to watch. LOVE IT!
But don't start bashing zerg players that make it because they've put in a lot of effort and it's so disrespectful to detract from that.

People aren't blaming the players. They obviously want to win because they kind of like money and furthering their professional SC2 career. What makes it shitty for the observers is when you're constantly watching ZvZ finals for the final 7-8 months of WoL -OR- you see a Protoss or Terran edge into the semi-finals/finals just to get pushed out anyways to make the zerg race king once again. It's incredibly predictable.
I'd go off to say Innovation and Parting had a way higher chance of beating zergs in the semi-finals/finals than Taeja and MC have even if they move forward. I just think they're better players right now. It's just going to be a huge disappointment if we have to see someone like MC or Taeja that everyone loves make it to the finals and get 4-0'd by late game zerg compositions when they realize all they have to do is play safe and collect their bank.

Excellent results. It'd be great if Taeja won, but I want to see MC lose, whether in the RO8 or RO4, so people get even more livid. TL hates it when Protoss players lose.
People are already setting themselves up for the next matches, saying they expect an all Z finals. If that happens, they'll say that they told you so. If it doesn't, then they'll say, "WOW MC/Taeja so good!"

Im so glad Curious crushed Parting. I like Parting, and the way he plays - but after Startale lost Parting and Squirtle, i felt bad for them. So its good to see them still on top :D
Also loving the tears about all Zerg final. As soon as the innovation train ran out of fuel, the tears spewed despite 3 more bo5s to be played.
Z v Z finals doesnt really interest me either, but im not gonna piss my pants about it *cossack dance*
Rooting for Taeja and MC! Always wanted Taeja to win a GSL, and MC getting his 3rd would be an awesome story :D
