Let's hope things change for Hots release.
There are 2 Terrans and 2 Zerg in ro8 so far? technically 3 zergs because of group d 3 out of 8 is not dominance. Squirtle was 1 game away from advancing, if he had bothered to build cannons after he scouted an all in. There are 5 zergs left that haven't played for 4 R8 spots. Theoretically it could be all 4 zergs advance and we will have 6/8 are zergs right? Yes, but it's a little early to start complaining. The games today were very close. MKP was ahead against Soulkey after the 2 Rax. If instead of mech, he played bio, which is more his style, I think he would have won that game and the series. Squirtle also could have gone out 1st, if it weren't for that inexplicable decision to not build cannons after seeing a ton of lings at that point in the game. All I saw yesterday and today were close games, I didn't see dominance, except maybe for DRG against Bomber yesterday, those games were 1 sided.
To be fair, Zergs have gone 35-22 against terran in this season of Code S according to TLPD.
PvZ seems balanced though.

Those similarities to Season 3....
It feels like all the good stories for the last WoL GSL are dying. MKP would have been an amazing story as would have Squirtle and Bomber. Even DRG would have a good story with his 'resurgence'. Of the currently qualified quarterfinalists, only Taeja has a semi-good story. Bogus and Soulkey are meh; they've only been playing WoL for the last few months. Symbol had a good story back in mid-2012, but he seems like just another good Zerg now.

If Bogus or Soulkey win the title then the last WoL will belong to a Kespa player. Want a better story than that?

The remaining players have good story lines still.
Will MC continue his resurgence and make another finals? Will Parting get revenge for Blizzard Cup? Will he, when he's in a group with 3 Zergs, rely on his wonwonwon to advance, or try to save it for the later rounds like he did in Blizzard cup against Violet?
Which Gumiho will we see, the team league monster or the one who always loses to Curious? On that note, will Curious break his ro16 curse?
Losira has been the dark horse in this tournament, he was the underdog in all polls and predictions, both in the up and downs and ro32, but he looks like a man on a mission to get back to the top. Will he succeed?
Will Life win his 5th major title in the span of just a few months, and become the first player to win 3 GSL titles after Nestea and Mvp?

MC, PartinG and Life all offer good storylines and are likely to advance(Gumiho and Losira deserve a mention too). Together with TaeJa and the KeSPA vs eSF rivalry there are a few notable ones. But yeah, if now B4, Roro, Curious and Gumiho/Losira all advance the season would feel a bit random.

Wtf was wrong with MKP. On 2 bases, no skirmished happen, you don't have anything to do but macro, and you forget to f+cking rally your CC? There were 7 (!) SCVs idling until he notices. I mean, there is even an UI notification for idle workers. And then the countless micro errors and attack timings that do not make sense at all. I've never seen MKP play so bad before

its just classic MKP, and why people love him. hes easily affected by his emotions which cost him games in tense situations (here, the tense situation was he had to win to advance to winners) and allows him to roll over his opponents when hes confident. I think you must not be a big MKP fan if you haven't seen him play this badly before. Watching MKP is always a rollercoaster since it's hard to know how he'll play.
That said, I don't think that type of personality will ever win any big tournaments, even if the people want it. Symbol and Soulkey advance? A bit expected, but I thought Squirtle would put up more of a fight. Will have to see the games.

I still can't figure why people like MKP so much. Was nice watching Symbol play though.

Squirtle should have won the last set but he was too rattled by what happened versus Soulkey. Misplaced pylons, not retreating quickly enough, etc...

It all goes down to how a person enjoys the style and personality of the player. MKP had success in the past (GSL and MLG), and displays emotions that very few players show in the booth. People were entranced with his Bio micro, and appreciate his innovations in the game.

is there a reason why MKP keep doing mech vZ when his bio is so good?

Lame.... Symbol is not even that good. T.T

I was rooting hard for MKP too. For now though, let us hope that the president will once again claim his throne.
