At least no one will expect Bomber to roll his group easy, so maybe he'll do that.

You mean because we expect the Bomber rule to be in effect he will fail to live up to Bomber rule expectations and advances?
That's deep.

Losira seemed rather apathic and annoyed during the group selections. Wonder what was up.

Anyways, TaeJa hwaiting! Only one Zerg, and the rest Terrans. You beat everyone before, so go go!

Being close to Symbol maybe annoyed him, you know, because of the whole Symbol-hates-IM thing.

Some awesome groups everywhere. Going to be some great games no matter who advances.

I can see both DRG and MC advancing, since DRG only has to practice ZvT and he did great at the match up in his ro32. MC probably has the easiest group, and he did very well in his ro32 too, so he should advance too.

Suicide-pick of this season definitely goes to Life in picking Parting. Even if he manages to beat him, it is VERY risky for a zerg to pick the soul-train himself.

Looking forward to the games!

Haha, how is Parting going to prepare for this? He doesn't even need to practise the soul train...

I'd have to say the suicide pick this season would definitely have to be Life choosing Soulkey. Soulkey 4-0ed Life last season and continues to get better with time. Life and Parting have a pretty good idea how each other play so that should be a great series. Either way, It's motivation for Life to push even harder and test his ability.

But that was last season. I was talking about this particular group nomination. Also, was it really an obvious suicide pick from the start in picking Soulkey? Life had (and still has) one of the best ZvZ records, and it made sense to pick Soulkey at the time. I don't think Life, or anyone else for that matter, expected Soulkey to prepare so extensively and well for picking Life apart.

It was still a 4-0 in his best match up lol. Plus Life has already beaten Parting in the Blizzard cup. Even though he might have one of the best ZvZ records doesn't mean he's untouchable. Sure it made sense to pick Soulkey at the time but it's the GSL, you don't go lightly in the GSL especially if you get a second chance after losing the first set. It will be a good match either way. And you say "last season" like Soulkey got worst or something lol He's only been getting better.

I guess we're thinking differently on the term suicide-pick; where I'm thinking it's 'chosing this player is obviously very risky and has a good chance of backfiring on you', and your version is 'picking this player turned out to be suicidal, even though it made sense at the time'.

Not saying Soulkey got worse at all, just saying that, in my opinion, the suicide pick of this season is Life picking Parting, since it is very risky and has a good change of backfiring. Yes, no one goes lightly in the GSL, but there are still some safer and some riskier choices. And no, I'm not saying that Life can't beat Parting, just that there were safer options. But as said, they will be great games either way.

Something I missed the first time around: Mr Chae said at the end that GOM is moving to a new studio in March apparently. Wonder where we'll find out more about this? Mokdong studio no more?

Also, Jae is a really good on-the-fly translator.

I think BlazeFury was talking about either a hypothetical selection of Soulkey by Life being the most suicidal or he is referring to last season. Regardless, Soulkey isn't in Life's group. It's RorO as the last player.

Interesting that all the Kespa players were picked in the last round. Guess they have made a name for themselves among the GOM pros.

Interesting that Losira was picked so late. I would have estimated him as one of the easiest Z in Ro16 (if not the easiest). But it is usually a good skill indicator to be picked so late, so he must really be on the rise on ladder or so.

I think he's been topping the Korean ladder off and on for a few months. I remember seeing his name at rank 1 a few times. I think the barcode ID thread screenshot of the end of the last ladder season has him at #1
