Rains micro was so amazing that game... he made literally 1 mistake, and that was losing the warp prism, gah, cant make any mistakes vs mass infestors or you'll lose.

reminds me of BW, kespa had micro maps (smaller, less bases, short rush distance) that encouraged smaller scale engagements. Also had macro maps which are pretty much the SC2 map pool right now. And of course "gimmick" maps like Araknoid

no 4th for zerg though. That's pretty critical too. On the other hand, 3rd are too easy for terran or protoss, that's huge for them, counters the easy 3rd for zerg.

Yeah, but I'd say that's not the dominant feature there like Blizz/GSL maps....

You didn't read gimmick did you

it's 3 easy bases, but has a massive gimmick of being a psuedo-island map that promotes certain styles over others.

I really enjoyed pvz even way after people started calling it a boring match up but I just can't enjoy this anymore. Rain losing makes it so much worse for me.
